I've been referred to as a troll (in the non-Internet sense) for decades because of my tendency to hide in my cave.

One of my pet peeves is that most people treat introversion as another namr for social anxiety. They are not the same thing. QBeing an introvert or an extrovert kind of depends on how much stimulation a person can tolerate in a social setting. As an introvert and a retail employee, I can handle a number of people coming into my workplace before I need to duck into the backroom and recharge a bit. If I am unable to, then I get a level of Exhaustion that can only be alleviated after my shift ends for the night.
Cats come in creamsicle now? :-OIt's true both my orange tabby and my creamsicle cat are insane attention hogs!
Well sure, but people interpret the world through the examples that are memorable to them, and I would assume the most obvious and extreme introvert most people have encountered also had severe social anxiety. One of my pet peeves is that most people treat introversion as another namr for social anxiety. I'm just the first. Fairly outgoing and even chatty, until I run out of social stamina... then I just don't wanna know anything about anybody until I have rested. I do love my inner world.Yeah, introversion, social anxiety and shyness are all different things. I have a big chunk of the first (I'm distinctly of the "social environments are tiring" school) and have some social anxiety, but I'm not really shy to any real degree.
Me too. I am often the leader of small groups, and I have performed on stage. All of it exhausts me, though!Yeah, introversion, social anxiety and shyness are all different things. I was shooting pool at the student union with my roomie and another mutual friend. We had to give our student IDs to the monitor at the desk. After a while, we decided to get dinner, so we picked up the balls and took them to the desk to get our IDs back.Nevertheless, through most of my life, this odd fellow was the biggest introvert that could ever introvert, in my mind, because his awkwardness around most people was so comically over-the-top and memorable.
It's true. He bit me and the flesh around my wound necrotized something awful. Also: I’m so introverted, one of my nicknames is “The Brown Recluse”.
