So, I just read this, and see syfy is putting it on tv. I enjoyed the book. How bad will it be on syfy?

Started the first episode. Could be worse. But it could be better. They made a number of changes that, while I can understand the reasons, don’t particularly help the story. Like aging-up the characters. They made Quentin start off as a grad student, and it just makes him seem more a man-child than an uncertain teenager.

Also, word of warning, it looks like it's taking content from the second book and using it early on. So if you haven't read The Magician King, it might spoil bits of that.

Ya, just read that was happening. Guess I need to read the second one. I assume it is good?

I enjoyed it quite a bit. Perhaps more than the first one even.
