Today I learned that there is a plausible theory that one of the original AVRO Arrows survived Diefenbaker's mandate that they all be cut up for scrap and that jet was somehow delivered to the UK. The theory is supported by the fact that two complete ejection seats specifically made for the Arrow project, presumably the two from the same aircraft given the slight differences that clearly mark them as used in the fore and aft positions. One seat is currently on display in a Toronto aviation museum, of all places, while the other is in private hands.
