I hate to say things like this, but yes, and no.

If you are a huge fan of the series, and must play every one, and can deal with some oddness, then yes, you must buy this game. If you are not all of the above, and you are looking for a great, up to date game experience, then no.

The game feels unfinished. The controls are as blocky as ever, which you get used to, but can be problematic. Many of her signature moves and game play elements are gone, replaced by things which seem half finished. There are slowdowns in game, possibly due to PAL to NTSC conversion. There are times when the game simply doesn;t make sense, (for instance you know you need to perform an action, but you cannot, only to learn NO you don't have to do it!).

I do enjoy it, when I am able to progress, but its not what it should have been. It is not as much of an advancement as it should be over previous versions.

My sister who is a toom raider movie junky loved it and was addicted to it. Me I'm a game junky and I couldn't deal with the slow downs, the are times where it slows down so much it feels your moving through molasis(sp?). the controls weren't that bad, but they could of been much better.

I had fun, but maybe more used game 20$ fun and not new game 50$ fun. I got my monies worth under my normal definition of 5$ an hour worth of entertainment, but still there are beter 50$ purchases out there I think.

Driving a robot...

Heya:

I don't recall having as painful a time in the previous games moving Lara around. It felt like I was driving a robot usually. Want to open that door? Turn a bit, drive forward, oops, too much to the left, put it in reverse, turn a bit to the right, drive forward, ah, there's the hand icon, open the door. Bleh. I'll probably try to finish it, but I'm unimpressed. Also, perhaps I'm being harsh, but it doesn't really feel like a new engine or improved graphics. Dunno.

Take care,
Dreeble
