Trailer Park Boys: the Game, Wed 6:30p-10:00p (FULL)

I will be beta-testing my new Trailer Park Boys game at Gen Con this year. (My Toronto gaming group will be alpha-testing it this June). Based on the popular TV show, the game will work off simple mechanics designed to enhance and emphasize the show's own special genre. Although none of the PCs or NPCs will be characters from the show (indeed, the park will be located in rural British Columbia not Nova Scotia), various basic narrative and genre conventions of the show will apply, including but not limited to the party leader being required to have a rum and coke with ice at all times during play.

For those who do not know the show and would like to become acquainted, I recommend downloading one of the classic episodes, whose names the obscenity filter on ENWorld is about to garble such as
#1.2 F_ck Community College, Let's Get Drunk and Eat Chicken Fingers
#1.3 Mr. Lahey's Got My Porno Tape
#3.1 The Kiss of Freedom
#5.3 The F_ckin' Way She Goes
However, knowledge of the TV show is unnecessary; all that is required is an appreciation for trailer park life, its joys and pitfalls.

The premise of any episode of the game will be that exigent circumstances require that the characters raise a certain amount of money in a fixed amount of time to cover a car payment, mortgage payment, pound of dope or what have you. It is up to the PCs to develop a scheme to make this money and to the GM to erect obstacles and interesting NPCs in their path.

If you enjoy my style of humour, as exemplified in last year's Gamma World Escape from the Embassy Suites, please consider signing on.

Interested so far:
1. Suzi Yee
2. Buttercup
3. Fett
4. Bubbalicious
5. Yangnome
6. VACANT

EDIT: Alright. I have decided to schedule this game for Wednesday night 6:30 to 10:30pm; we will proceed from there to whatever party is in progress when the session is over. If there is no party, we will form the nucleus of one.

Dude! If this is going to require that we drink alcohol while we play, I vote for an evening session. Maybe it can replace the alcohol LARP on Saturday night?

And yes, please count me in. As I said in your other game thread, I am free any time on Thursday and anytime on Saturday. I'm not big on rum & coke because it makes me puke, but if you think it would work for me to have a drink with a little umbrella in it, I'm down for that. Alternatively, I could show up with a bottle of tequilla, a salt shaker and a bunch of limes. You've only seen me mildly tipsy on red wine, so you have no idea. None. :D

Heh. d20Dwarf has a multicolored sombrero. I bet I could convince him to let me wear it, if you think it would add to the ambiance.

Dude. I'm so there. Wednesday night is fine with me. The booth should be set up by then and it's a perfect time for a beverage.

I'm not sure how well a Texan Asian girl can pull off roleplaying a newfie, but I'll do my best.

Now for the research. :)

Put me on the list. I'll lean on Bubbalicious to make sure we leave Dayton with enough time to do this (don't put him on the list, I'll let him decide if he wants to play).

nothing like getting the games underway right when I get there!!1

This sounds like fun, and I'd love to play a game of yours, Fusangite, but I've commited to play in Queen D's game from 4-8 that day. If it were later, I'd do it, but it means I will have Fett there by then!

Well, since it's only Wednesday, I won't be completely exhausted yet. Maybe. Of course, with a later start time, that means we'll probably already be drunk when the game begins. Hmm.

What to do, what to do?

You call it, fusangite. I'll be there. Drunk or sober, awake or tired, I'll be there. :)

You don't need to move the game (unless you want to), I have been informed that we will be arriving later than I thought, so I will drop the 4-8 game and do this one instead.

How many spots do you have? I'd love to join in! I'd also be up for starting later, so I too can join Queen D's 4-8 game.

Considering the game, that may enhance the experience. ;)

I have to be a little early at the booth on Thursday, so I'm leaning toward keeping the time the same. I don't know if Canadian Suite is happening on Wednesday night, but keeping the time the same also means rolling in for the party at 10:30 instead of after midnight.

Okay. We're sticking with the initial time.

EDIT: I am now closing this list. Anyone else will be wait-listed.

EDIT: Nareau, please let me know which game you'd like to be in so I can see if we've got a spot for yangnome.

Well, dang. I'll abdicate my spot in your game to yangnome. If you're running other games, fusangite, I'd love to play in something you're running.

Sadly, it's also full but put yourself on the Paranoia wait-list. If there is sufficient interest, I may launch a second section of one of my games.

I hope you're pround of yourself, Stuart. We're looking at a repoed house to flip and during our walkthrough inspection Suzi kept picking up the change found in the cracks of the car garage we're going to demolish as well as in between the planks of the porch we'll have to fix. All the while she was thinking, "This would be a great way to make money for my Trailer Park Boys game: finding change in repoed houses!"

I love games where you will mechanically benefit from things like "Being unable to control your swearing" or "threatening people for smokes" and suchlike:)

Part of me is tempted to come in costume..... I don't know if I own anything that hootchy any more, but I can always try.
