Training the n00bs!

First Post
Starting this weekend, i'll be spending my saturdays at Kings Games running D&D3.5 and D20Modern Demos to try and attract new gamers.

I'm gonna photocopy the basic character creation rules from the PHB to give em, then go over everything step by step using only core rules. PHB only.

After character creation is complete, i'll sit back and let them toss me questions about anything they wanna know while they flip through the PHB.

IF i happen to get 2 or more people at the Demo, i'll run a mini adventure and so forth.

I'd like to encourage anyone else who has a few spare hours (I dont actually, but gaming is more important then college), to try and herald in a new (or old!) generation of gamers!

Yes, i know there was a whole month devoted to this on the boards, but whtaever.

I think this is an excellent idea. There are too many kids these days that just know TCGs or just know clickies. I recommend putting together a limited scenario - something that includes at least one roleplaying encounter and one or two combats, depending on how much time you will have with each group. I would also sweeten the deal by picking up a few packs of the new minis and giving away the commons to anyone who participates. Since this activity could potentially result in higher RPG sales for the retailer, see if they'd be willing to foot the bill for part of the minis.
