TRPG or TTRPG?

I'll grudgingly use 'ttRPG' because the kids these days need baby-talk to understand me.

Before "ttRPG" became the basic way to refer to them, the phrase "Pen and paper RPG" was pretty common…

I’d forgotten all about the phrase “Pen & Paper RPG”

Though the acronym of ‘PnP’ kinda reminds me of something…

Wonder if the TRPG was the result of an autocorrect helpfully getting rid of a TT ?
As a retired IT person, PnP is ingrained as Plug and Pray, even though it is supposed to be Plug and Play. PnP failed so often when it first came out that Pray was far more accurate then Play.
Agree on the PNP for transistor. Same for NPN.

Maybe the singular ‘T’ in TRPG just stands for ‘Top’… leading to ‘Top Roleplaying Game’.

I guess of all the TTRPG Publishers out there, WotC may be the only one that could numerically back that claim up!
