undead hunter........arcane trickster?

Sir ThornCrest

First Post
were starting a "undead hunter" based campaign and 1 of the players wants to play a rogue/wizard to adventually prestige in arcane trickster/tomb robber. His thought is to make all the little magicals he will need to add his tomb robbing. He travels with the undead hunters just because they often end up finding tombs & treasure .....is this a reasonable concept? Well I suppose I mean is it practical. Ive never played a rogue wizard, nor have I ever adventured with one. We will start out with 30,000 exp pts to do with what we will.

what do you think?

I think that his sneak attack damage will be largely useless, but if he's willing to live with that, it's a cool character.

It's a fine concept. As Zappo pointed out, his Sneak Attack ability will be mostly useless, unless he gets his had on the Gravestrike spell from Complete Adventurer. Damn. Gravestrike is a Cleric spell. It's Golemstrike that is a Wizard spell...

This character will mostly be a support character. I assume he'll specialize in utility spells to get in and out of tombs. Just don't rely on him to blow stuff up.

Great RP concept, that! Don't worry about the mechanicals. Heck, Anglesboi played a whip-wielding undead hunter in my game (undead being immune to subdual damage) and still had fun with the character.

There Was Some Temple Raider Tomb Raider Class He Was Concidering

But He Didnt Want To Be Casting Divine Magic..didnt Want Any Tie Down So To Speak To Any One Alignment Cause Or Diety...but Im Sure He Would Really Want That Gravestrick Ability! :]

Don't worry about gravestrike. He should easily be able to dip into skullclan hunter (from the Miniatures Handbook) to get sneak attack against undead.
