Vampire: The Masquerade is getting a D&D 5.5E crossover product, coming to D&D Beyond this year

Coming to D&D Beyond this July.

White Wolf is the latest publisher to join D&D Beyond's third-party marketplace. Today, D&D Beyond announced its next slate of partner content, coming out later this year. One of the new products is Vampire: The Masquerade - Bound by Blood (5.5e), a new product published by Ghostfire Gaming, presumably under license. Bound by Blood will contain a new Kindred class for 5.5E (a reference to a commonly-used euphemism for vampires in the World of Darkness campaign setting), as well as a new Dark Ages adventure.

Vampire: The Masquerade isn't the first rival game to Dungeons & Dragons to post 5.5E content on D&D Beyond. Chaosium previously released a Call of Cthulhu product on D&D Beyond earlier this year, and Pathfinder released a 5E version of their popular dungeon-crawler adventure Abomination Vaults, which is set in the Pathfinder setting of Golarion. D&D Beyond serves as the largest marketplace for D&D products on the internet, and is possibly the biggest TTRPG marketplace as well, so it's not a surprise that other publishers are partnering with Wizards to get their content on the marketplace.

What's curious is the nature of the relationship between Ghostfire Gaming and White Wolf, which owns the World of Darkness setting. White Wolf has been beefing up its TTRPG studio to bolster production of various World of Darkness games in recent years, notably hiring away Jess Lanzillo from D&D. They have a publishing relationship with Renegade Games, who currently publishes various Vampire: The Masquerade products along with Werewolf: The Apocalypse and Hunter: The Reckoning. What will be interesting is whether Ghostfire Gaming plans to continue publishing Vampire: The Masquerade content for D&D, or if this is a one-off publication.

I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but it looks like it's only coming to D&D Beyond. The pre-order links go straight to Beyond and I'm not finding anything for a physical or PDF release.
No PDF or print version are planned by WotC . . . it's not out of the question for White Wolf, but nothing has been announced. I'm not expecting PDF or print.

Because I was under the assumption that it was being done by both White Wolf and Ghostfire, there would be a PDF release, but my brain apparently glossed over this part of the first line:
Last week, we revealed our partnership with Ghostfire Gaming and Dungeons & Dragons,

So that's on me!

Well . . . WotC, White Wolf, and Ghostfire are partners on the project and depending on the agreements and needs of each partner . . .

Ghostfire could do a PDF and/or print, or White Wolf could . . . and if demand is there, maybe we'll see it.

Do you think Malkawian, Tremere, Lasombra and Tzimice could appear in a later sourcebook? The Ministry/setites can be an interesting antagonist faction. Ravnos can be cool but it is a clan that needs a right roleplaying of charming but fresh tricker. Maybe Ashamitas/Banu Haquim (children of Haquim)?, and somebody could ask gargoles bloodline as Tremere's bodyguards. I don't miss very much Capadoccios and Giovanni(Hecata).

The Tremere and other clans are out because they have exclusive disciplines and these could need more work for game designers. My opinion is they will arrive later in a second sourcebook.

Even if it's exclusive D&D-Beyond a good number of sales could open a door for new "crossovers".

We don't know the "setting". Maybe those "clans" are in a fantasy world, or the lore is altered to can use them in any setting. This could be Ravenloft, Innistrad, Grimm Hollow, Crooked Moon.. or even New Capenna.

* Does anybody miss any bloodline from Vampire: Requiem?
