Video Games You Wish Existed

Stray is a great game, one that shows you don't need a ton of hours to make a satisfying game.
I just wish it didnt turn into a weird shooter about one quarter of the way in. I earned the 9 lives acuievement while trying the mite infestation chapter. I still havent passed it.

I hate it when you run into an impassable mini-game. I was REALLY enjoying Arkham Knight until you had to have the big tank fight in the Batmobile. I literally just stopped playing that game after 3 or 4 tries.

Yeah, or certain boss battles. I stalled out of Breath of the Wild at the final fight in one of the ancient machines (the camel one) due to not being able to get the timing right on countering the attacks, and would basically have had to spend awhile grinding ingredients to cook more stamina boosters before even trying to go back in, and it all seemed so tedious that I never went back to it.

I just generally hate boss fights. I think one of the reasons I love Skyrim so much is that it doesn't really have them. At least, the dungeon end bosses and dragons aren't actually a different kind of fight than the ones that lead up to them -- they just have more HP and do more damage. Diablo IV really bigs me in that regard: I love the way it plays 90% of the time but just can't abide puzzle bosses.

I stopped playing at that point too. And with the final boss in RE Revelations, but at least it is the final boss only.

The exact same location where I quit the game. I got so close to winning that when I did I gave up, too much of a slog.

What video games do you wish someone would make? It could be anything, from a certain licensed video game to a remke or sequel to a much beloved classic to just a concept you have never seen before.

And maybe, if you share it in this thread, someone will point you to a similar game that actually exists!

One thing I think would be really fun is a "GM Simulator". Take the weird tower defense style "make a dungeon to defeat the heroes" of Dungeon Keeper likes, but also add Sims style happiness meters for the players of the heroes. You can't just murder them whenever they try and get in, otherwise you won't have any players. And the players are randomly generated "player types" so you might have to make sure there are romanceable NPCs or big dragons to fight or whatever makes that particular player happy.

Another game that I really, really want is "Super Skyrim" -- that is, a "old school" (pre-FO4) Bethesda style open world super hero game. And not a pre-made story like Infamous, but a blank slate (non voiced) protagonist with Champions level power possibilities and a reactive world/NPCs.

What about you? What video games do you wish existed?
Stellaris is my favorite game. There is an excellent full conversion mod for that basically recreates the entirety of the Star Trek franchise. I would like to have something like that for Babylon 5, or failing that Star Wars. I would play the hell out of either.

Valheim was a game I bought day 1 because I thought it was definitely checking a lot of these boxes, and it is pretty good, but it's so focused on survival and crafting, and doesn't really have an interesting or cool open world, or nor actual good combat (albeit way above average for the survival-crafting genre!). Kind of need something a bit like that or Enshrouded but just dropping the survival-crafting elements (which are very non-optional in Valheim and I suspect Enshrouded) in favour of more actual focus on tight combat design, cool enemies, a world that actually has NPCs/quests/etc. and so on.
Enshrouded and Valheim have the right amount of survival crafting for me. My wife and I are constantly looking for similar games.
