Illustrator Jason Bradley Thompson announced yesterday that an upcoming book from Penguin Random House and Ten Speed Press will feature a collection of humorous isometric maps celebrating classic dungeons from throughout D&D's history. Thompson has produced many of these maps over the years, and this 80-page collection features not only the best of his maps, but also new artwork, a foldout map of the Sword Coast, and 'snarky but accurate' information on the worlds of Dungeons & Dragons. The book is called Dungeons! Illustrated Maps Of Classic Dungeons & Dragons Adventures, and will be available on April 27th, 2027 in hardcover for $30.

The dungeons covered include:
  • The Moathouse of Evil (outside the village of Hommlet)
  • White Plume Mountain
  • The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth
  • The Underdark
  • Ten Towns
  • Hold of the Storm Giants
  • The Tomb of Horrors
  • Barovia and Castle Ravenloft

Oh wow. I used the map of the Vault of the Drow while running Dead Gods, both hilarious and useful. I didn't realize there were more of them, definitely grabbing this one.

A birthday present for meeesh!

I'm not 4/27 but it's pretty close. I love these humorous (and humerus) maps; can't wait to get the physical version!
