Dragon Riding! Definitely going to adopt those rules to make use of the new Purple Dragon Knight and Cormyr lore.

I have no idea what they’ll do, but there’s a world of difference between the Dragonlance characters (which have always been secondary to the love people have for the setting), vs Star Wars where the characters are the central conceit of the storyverse.
Disagree. For me, at least, the characters from the Dragonlance Chronicles trilogy are just as important, if not more so, than the setting itself. Don't really see much difference in how the "Heroes of the Lance" relate to the Dragonlance setting as how Luke and pals relate to the larger Star Wars story.

You can still find adventure in both settings, easily.

I agree I dont see much difference, and some of my issues with later deafonlance books beyond the first two trilogies is what happens to the Heroes of the Lance.

However, if playing in those worlds, it would be nice to be able to play as characters at centre of the main events, being the equivalent to Luke or Tanis etc. I think in both settings those groups are the main protagonists driving things along.

I see it sort of the difference between Lord og the Rings books vs movies. In the books there are plenty of other protagonists driving things behind the scenes, whereas in the movies it is just the fellowship driving everything, like the Ent decision, lighting beacons, swing Faramir etc.
So I would find it easier playing other characters doing other things in the book world rather than the movie world.

I don’t see a difference at all, I have no idea why I should care more for Obi-Wan and Luke than say Raistlin and Caramon, or for that matter Frodo and Sam.

In all cases I can focus on the story / world or the characters. To me this seems to very much be a personal preference, not more.
