Well, it's been a week...

Still homeless and still no end in sight. We did some emergency clothes shopping yesterday. The heat is sweltering (ironically I have AC at home….)

And worst of all it’s my birthday tomorrow. The BBQ on Saturday is cancelled. How about you cheer me up and back our latest Kickstarter? We could really use a win right about now! #sympathycard

Day 12 of my exile. They're still getting fluctuating readings from below the house--they think the leak saturated the sandy ground on which the house is built, and also pockets in and around the foundations.

Apparently they have to get three consecutive readings of zero, then they close the house up (no ventilation) for 24 hours and if it's still zero after that they (well, we) are allowed to reoccupy. They get readings of zero from time to time, and it's coming down, but it's always fluctuated back up again. The heatwave is also an issue, as I'm told the hot, still air makes it really hard for the gas to disperse. I'm hoping the cooler weather this week will help.

after the emergency is "resolved", I would test the house for crystal meth :D

on the serious side, I hope it's over soon.
Damn, now I love that I only have two 9KG gas bottles for cooking...

Oh wow!
Really sorry to hear this Morrus - this soonds absolutely horrible :(
On a large scale, it’s an inconvenience more than a catastrophe but it really sucks right now! I’m sure in a few months I’ll look back and laugh. It is making working a challenge though. I’ve managed to borrow a laptop now (after a week with just my phone) but it has none of my stuff, none of my passwords, none of the software I use. And it’s teeny and I had to go and buy reading glasses to use it!

Ah well, it will all resolve itself and the first night back in my own bed will be bliss!

Too bad your fish-feeding friend wasn't able to grab your laptop.

Oh, and also how are the fish doing - no worries about gas for them!?
