D&D 5E (2024) What 2014 settings should get a new 2024 release & what should it get?

Spelljammer should get another pass. Drop the Light of Xaryxis adventure from the equation and use those extra pages to give a real setting and some ship combat rules.

Also bring back some of the more interesting stuff from 2E like the elvish and orcish bioweapons.
Spelljammer could do something like the Astromundi Cluster subsetting and use it as a setting creation guide and ship design manual

An Earth Bender in 5e could be an Earth Elementalist from the Elementalist class in Purple Martin Games' Manual of Adventurous Resources: Complete, or an Earth Bender from the Bender class in Loot Tavern's Ryoko's Guide to the Yokai Realms. ;) @Xeviat designed the first one. ;)
Sure, though i havent checked those out, i read good things about them.

Im just saying, you could certainly make a strength based caster class for them.

Though going down that road i might suggest that a set of four attributes that are all physical, with each bender type using a different one, would be even better.

But speaking of such things, i would love a Kara Tur book or a full reboot of Rokugan or a dnd port of Kamigawa, would be my top pick. But less totally East Asian, and written but a mix of ttrpg developers from all sorts of Asian backgrounds, if it is gonna be focused on more than one region for inspiration.

I like the Elementalist class more because of its' connection to PF1's Kineticist class. If I was to play as a member of this class; I would definitely borrow some of the elemental spells in Ryoko's Guide to the Yokai Realms.

I also would like to see a 5e Kara Tur setting. A 5e version of Heroes of the Jade Oath would also be nice.

Rokugan's off with another company these days, but if anything needs a full reboot, Kara Tur is it

Seriously the original inclusion of KT was outdated by 1970 and didn't fit in any D&D setting expectation.. Yes, I am aware the book came out in the 80s, that's how outdated the book was

There are three Asia specific MTG sets -Tarkir, Mountain and Sea, and Portal Three Kingdoms. Those cold be minded for an updated Asia setting by Asian designers.

Kara-Tur is part of the Realms now, and thus not immune to Realms Shaping Events that could reinvent the setting into something a little more updated.

Lol yeah it's pretty rough.

If they ever do a new setting, i would want to see something that embraces Asia and Oceania, with stuff inspired by things like Japanese Samurai mercenaries in Mexico on the fringes.

Yup, there's been the Time of Troubles, the Spellplague, the Second Sundering, and some 100-odd years since the original boxed set. There are lots of excuses to make huge changes to the setting.
