What Are You Listening To? - Reprise

Carly Rae Jepsen dropped a double album last Friday, who has time to listen to an uninspired (judged from that last few albums) Taylor song?
I listened to it yesterday during work. Wow - such a departure from my expectations for a CRJ album. Of course she's 40 now, and it's been 14 years since Call Me Maybe. I think I like the mature CRJ more than the bop star.

I really liked it - moody downbeat songs are def my jam. Will listen to more/again.

Also, because no one asked, here's my assessment of the new TS songs:

  1. Babylon
  2. Patient Zero
  3. Pink Clouding
  4. Cleveland!
Which basically proves my point that happiness makes for mediocre art.
While I long for world peace, the world's art sure will suffer...

Yeah, I was considering waiting for the deluxe physical edition version of Showgirl, but I don't really need the extra songs. I also have realized that while I love Emily Armstrong's vocals on classic LP songs, I don't like the live takes because part of them doing it live is letting the crowd sing parts of the song.

I haven't checked out CRJ's new stuff yet.

I have Emotion as one of the best albums of 2015, but I think it might be too much on her poppier side for you, but I do think you'd like The Loneliest Time and the companion album The Lovliest Time.

This from the last one is the best Daft Punk song not made by Daft Punk. (Which makes it better but I know no everyone agrees :D )
