I did vote "I use physical books regularly" - but mostly for not-quite-DnD like Pathfinder. When I played with the 2014 rules I checked the books frequently, but I didn't buy any 2024 books even when we updated my last online game to 2024 rules (the other game switched to Daggerheart).

So it's a bit more complex than the poll suggests.

I also voted "I use physical books regularly" but that's mostly to distinguish use of all the homebrew material we have on our website as reference for in-person games, from fully online play over roll20 or similar.

About the only things we need the physical books for these days are magic item write-ups and some esoteric corner-case rules that might not come up twice in a decade.

I played a lot online during Covid and was a master tier D&D-Beyond Subscriber, but I am privileged to have two groups now where we play mainly at the table only sometimes online if someone is not in town but has time. I loved online play, but I love play at the table much more. I bought the 2024 books for the one game (always table) and the other mixed game (online/table) is on digital tools (so even when playing at table we have our tablets/phones for digital character sheets) and uses 2014 rules.

I am only player at this tables. I DM Shadowdark exclusively currently, but this is not the scope of the survey.

I watch youtubers although my consumption his heavily reduced because I feel senior enough as a DM that most YTers are not having new advice for me. Last one I enjoyed was Mystical Arts.

Dimension 20 is my go to live play because I enjoy the short campaigns and comedic tone much more than the heavy acting of Critical Role - its closer to our home games (although we are of course not as funny and dont have the resources lol). CR I always try to get back with each campaign and I always stop after 10 episodes.

Podcasts are not really on my table, there was a time where I listenend to some actual play podcasts like NADDPOD or Adventure Zone.

As online community I only frequently visit enworld. I was a lot on r/DMAcademy but I enjoy the discussions here much more.

I don't think so, I post my Story Hour things here most every week, and yet I no longer hang-out on ENWorld. I used to have it open all day- every day (yes, even when I was supposed to be at work) just to check in, or else keep reading whatever I was reading. These days, well... this is the first poll/thread I've joined in on since I don't know when.

These days I come here to post and then mostly just disappear again. That's a time and work thing- nothing to do with the content et al here. I miss hanging out here however, and getting involved.

I play D&D on Fantasy Grounds (for one of my regular games all the players are in Japan), one session every week (sometimes two), got all the books I/we need in Fantasy Grounds, also have the physical books which are still the first things I reach for- even while sat at the screen.

Don't have any other digital subs- except half-a-dozen Patreon subs (for maps), only play 2014 D&D (nothing against 2024- got the books, not got around to reading them). Don't have time for Youtube games et al- wish I did, last one I remember listening to was Hal over on RPGMP3.

For C4 - I run my game in Foundry. The game where I am a player was also moved from Roll20 to Foundry, but the characters for that game are maintained in DNDB.
