What crappy game systems did you own?

All of these were solid systems. At least two of them were solid systems, Pong was just a single game, but for 1975 it was pretty good. At least from what I've heard. I'm old but I'm not "I remember when we purchased Pong" old.
It was actually singles Pong, doubles Pong (same game, but with each player controlling 2 paddles that moved in unison), and true doubles where you’d plug in the auxiliary controls for 4 player action.

A friend of mine owned one and I couldn't play anything for more than 5-10 minutes. He bought it and several games at a severe discount when they were still fairly new.
It was so bad. Should have been named insta headache boy. That thing must have caused vision damage in any long time user.

I had the choice between the Game Boy or the Lynx during Christmas of 89. I chose the Gameboy solely because I could get more games at the time for it. I feel that I made the right choice.

I chose the Lynx and loved it. Super fun system that was way ahead of the competition. Power adapters were basically a requirement, though. And you are correct that Game Boy had a better game selection, though.

My worst system was an Odyssey 2. Just a pure ripoff of the 2600 with no upside. It was cheap, though

Also, I own a Jaguar and Virtual Boy now. But I got them when I was collecting video games and knew what I was getting in to.

Not sure I'd call my game systems crappy, they all had some great games.

I had numerous gameboys over the years, finishing with the legend of zelda gold 3ds. We had the original sega.

I have a ps vita floating around, I think it didn't sell well but it allowed me to play games with my friend who owned, I think, a PS4.

Speaking of playstation, I had 1 and 2. 2 was eventually busted by my nephews and neices, or maybe it just packed it in.

PS1 I actually had 2, my dad and I would link a couple tvs together and play red alert or wipeout on them. It was fun.

I currently have an xbox series S or X, can't remember which is which or even what the difference is.

I remember my friend had something that you had to put cassette tapes into, had a fun little pyramid game where you were a treasure hunter dodging mummies. It's still one of my favourite games.

Jaguar and 3DO never seen one here.

Virtua Boy should win.

Havent had an outright stinker but Mega CD would be the closest. Still own one but I've lost a few games I had eg Shining Force CD.

Sega Saturn would be a contender. Megadrive was great. Dreamcast was great.

Anyone have a 32X? Never saw one here.

I've had good taste in consoles over the years and haven't felt burned on any of them, but I have played with a few people look down on. I've had fun with everything I've played with so far. Even if the console bombed, as long as there is one worthwhile game I wouldn't call it crappy. I found an Odyssey 2 in my grandparent's basement. It's a very early console that I wouldn't recommend anyone go find, but I had a lot of fun with a game called K.C. Munchkin that was a Pac-Man like game with a few new ideas. My other grandparents had a Pong clone system of some type that I played as a kid when I was over there. It was fun enough, if you've played any version of pong you know what to expect. Finaly, the one type of system that I played a lot as a kid that most will say was awful, but that I'm going to defend, is the Tiger Electronics lcd games. These get way too much hate these days. I'm not going to say they hold up to a Gameboy, they don't, but there were good ones. I've got a bunch that still work, and some of them are fun even now. It came down to luck with these. They made so many of these things in such a short amount of time that most were awful. A few though, man they are works of art. Sonic 2 is the one that still impresses me. This is a game that has under water sections, loop de loops, multiple enemies, bosses that change every stage, and even a pinball stage. All on a system where no graphic can overlap with another. It's a masterclass in efficient graphics layout.

Oh, and when I went down stairs to check what the Odyssey 2 game that I liked was called, I found out I own an Atari 7800. I do not remember buying a 7800. I did, I'm looking at it, but I don't remember buying it or ever playing it.

Atari 7800 isn't an embarrassing console or Odyssey (relative to when it came out). It was underpowered but cheap and backwards compatible.

Atari 5200 was junk apparently. Very difficult to get one that works and hasnt been repaired.

Some were obscure but there were a few launched around 1993.

Atari Jaguar
3DO
Amiga 32X

Virtual Boy is infamously bad especially for a major company.

You have to wonder whhat Atari was thinking when they put the 7800 out as well. Considering the competition and all.

They weren't.

They made a few, canceled it, then got bored 1-2 years down the line then released it.

Big weakness was weak sound chip (same as 2600 iirc).

Good library, cheap and backwards compatible.

Reread title. Crappy not disaster. Yeah 7800 might count.
