[What if] Pathfinder suddenly disappeared?

Pathfinder suddenly disappears and it's no longer supported. It's in limbo like some games of the past we loved.

Which game system would you migrate to?
Would you stick with Pathfinder 1 or 2e FOREVER fist raised high?
Other?

There's enough existing Pathfinder material to last a dozen lifetimes, Nobody needs to migrate anywhere!

Personally, I don't need a game "supported" with new material to continue to play it. But at the same time I also can and do move from system to system, so if there's another new game on the docket that I've got... I'd be fine playing the other new one instead. I don't have a need to "stick" with just one game.

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly how the Pathfinder rules work and how to interpret them all, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by a new revision even more bizarre and inexplicable.

There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

Yes,because the systems still work, and I have more than enough supplements to keep games going. Plus with exsisting stock and resales of material it‘s not like it would completly vanish anyway.

I still haven't completely migrated mentally out of 3.5 into Pathfinder 1e, although I tend to see most of that material as broadly compatible and part of the same basic system, more or less. Even if I somehow were to able to play RPGs as a full-time job, preparing every morning and running or playing a session every afternoon five days a week, I still doubt I'd be able to use up all of the 3e, 3.5 and Pathfinder 1e material that I have already.

I guess if it went away, well, I was never likely to migrate to 2e or Remastered anyway, so it wouldn't affect me in the least.

I think the natural fit would be Draw Steel, but honestly, I'm getting out of my sole remaining Pathfinder game at the next station. I just don't have the attention span or brain for crunchy, highly tactical RPGs anymore. (Oddly, that is even including Level Up - it's just past that line of "too much" for me.)

I wouldn't migrate to D&D 5E or any of its derivatives, that's for sure.

I have enough Pathfinder 1E AP's and third-party material (THE SLUMBERING TSAR, RAPPAN ATHUK, BARDS GATE, etc.) to play until retirement. And then I have enough Pathfinder 2E AP's and adventures to play until I'm officially off the census...

I mean, that's kind of what happened with PF1, which is my "forever game." Paizo stopped supporting it, and when they did a lot of the wider community did too; certainly the OGL debacle didn't help, and nothing has since ameliorated the harm caused by that (since you can't publish PF1 content under the CC, and that's 99% likely to remain true even if WotC ever releases the 3.5 SRD under it).

So for me, at least, that'd be pretty much exactly how things look today: PF1 would be kept alive by a smaller but still very dedicated group of small publishers, many of whom work on it as passion projects, and still turn out great material.

And of course, my group and I would continue to play PF1 for the foreseeable future.
