I don’t get ads here for obvious reasons, but on other sites/in apps, I get lots of ads that have ZERO to do with my online search habits. Somehow, I’m confounding the algorithms.

I don't use an ad blocker, but can't say I've noticed the ads. Perhaps ironically, the only ads anywhere I'm ever really aware of are the skippable ads before videos - those I watch for the countdown to "show me the thing I actually want to see". Everything else I just mentally filter.

If you have the right ad-blocker, those can be filtered out as well (at least on a laptop or desktop; I have yet to figure out how to make that work on my phone).

I recently put adblocker off for enworld on desktop and it was awfull. Like it felt half my screen was adds.

The one which was hardest to ihnore was some hald naked wonan drinking coffee with wet hair, I have no idea what the ad is for.


On mobile it gives me currently adds for flying, I guess because I had to do a business travel recently, but well bad algorithm since I normally privately dont travel especially not fly for obvious environmental reasons.
