What is the new Vampire: The Masquerade announcement at GenCon 2026?

But more seriously, their statement almost makes me think they’re working on V6 ed, maybe with the hopes of bridging the rift between V5 and the V20/classic players who found the changes weren’t their cup of tea.

Though if they did that then that means Mage never gets a “5th edition” reboot, and I always thought Mage was much more popular than Hunter ever was.

I guess there are two reasons Hunter got a revamp and Mage didn't.

1. Renegade Games (which IIRC were the ones who did Hunter and Werewolf) liked Hunter better.
2. Mage is a very weird game and would likely take a lot of time to get right in a way old Mage fans would like. Hunter on the other hand is pretty straight-forward. So they chose to pick the low-hanging fruit.

I buy that MtA takes a lot of work to get right, but bringing back HtR just feels like a consolation prize after HtV ran circles around it.
