D&D General What other famous D&D villains deserve to be Dark Lords?

Does Snarf count as a DnD villain?

Is Snarf on another break? I have not seen a lengthy post lately, and the bard population seems to be growing out of control...

Ashardalon was mentioned a few times upthread, as well as another dragon or two. I'm coming up blank; are there any dragon Dark Lords? I think that would be interesting.

If there were some famous D&D villain enoughly interesting to be recycled for Ravenloft this had appeared a lot of time ago in the 2nd Ed.

Queen Chrisalis (my little pony) could be an interesting dark lady.

New Capenna could be a dark domain. Angels were defending the world but betrayed by the demons. Isn't it enough reason?

Lareth the Beautiful from T1 seems appropriate. He could be a "Dorian Gray" type figure.

I don’t think there are any official ones. A shadow dragon became dark lord in one of my homebrew domains after the PCs de-cursed the original dark lord (but neglected to deal with the dragon).
