What Video Games Franchises/IPs need a Tabletop RPG

Funnily enough... one just released, essentially, though I am on the fence about it, given the reviews.
Wow! Thank you! Never heard of it.

I dont know the Promethium system, but I will buy it for sure. What do the reviews say`? (Or you mean the one on drivethru?)

I will check it out anyway. Having not much lore for me is a plus, since I want RPGs for the rules not fluff text.

Yeah, those reviews, some thoughts from ENWorlders in another thread on JRPG TTRPGs, and waiting for a take from the person at work who first told me about it. Knowing myself, I'd probably never use the system unless I was amazed by it, so it comes down to how well the book reads and/or the material ports.

Edit: though yeah, I love the Trails games and world they have lovingly crafted in the wide series, so having a TTRPG representation is definitely enticing.

How about Dwarf Fortress (Adventure mode)?

Detailed combat system from chopping out teeth to strangling. Personality tracking and trying to stay sane when you murder your way across the lands. Crafting of course. Strikes me as a something that would have to lean into VTT support to speed up all the detail.

Is there a Fallen London/Sunless Sea TTRPG out there? It's got such an interesting and unique setting and feels like it would be a great fit for a modern-ish system

Edit: Of course there was a million dollar plus kickstarter for just such this thing that I never noticed.

I'm usually not on the look out for an official conversion; if I want to run something, I can cram it into some system myself. But, it's an interesting question. My own personal requests would be for:
  • Darkest Dungeon. I've actually seen a ShadowDark small houserule set called SanityDark that does this pretty good. Or, at least it adds the stress mechanics, although I'd like to see the Darkest Dungeon classes adapted too.
  • Star Wars: The Old Republic. There's already plenty of Star Wars games, so it's not hard to adapt them to this specific sub-setting, but it does have some unique elements that I'd like to see adapted. And, as the follow-up to the old KOTOR games, which were based on the old d20 Star Wars, I think adapting it to the table-top makes a lot of sense anyway.
  • I'd always love to see Red Dead Redemption, but while the out of the box game does include some hints at weird supernatural stuff here and there, I'd play that up just a little bit more and make it like a dark Western version of The X-files a little.
  • Street Fighter plus similar (King of Fighters, Fatal Fury, etc.) I know this was done back in the 90s as a derivative of the old Storyteller system, and it was always kind of disappointing. I agree that this is a niche product, but I dunno, maybe not. There's a new Street Fighter movie coming out later this year, after all. I think that old system isn't one that I'd be interested in playing, but I'd love to have a look at a new game covering the same franchise.
None of those are new games by any stretch of the term; the franchises were kicked off in 2015, 2011, 2010 and 1987 respectively, although most of them have had updates or sequels since then. But those are games that I'd be interesting in buying RPGs for, even if I don't ever play them. I'd like to have them in my collection, read them and hang on to them kind of like some kind of fan merch.

Ironically, I haven't really played very much Darkest Dungeon, although I bought them on Steam long ago. I'd actually be more interested in it as a fleshed out RPG setting than as a video game, if that makes any sense.
