Based on reviews and a friend's recommendation, I'm gearing up for a play through of Doki Doki Literature Club.
I own that game, launched it one time and read the disclaimer. One day I'm sure I'll feel both curious and emotionally secure enough to venture past that point, but not so far.

Comfort-food games are a thing. Its one reason I've currently stopped buying new games, because I can't get myself to play them when I find dropping back to XCOM2: War of the Chosen, or (even more extreme) Master of Orion 2 relaxing wheras getting myself to actually engage for long with Phantom Doctrine or City of Gangsters requires some effort.
Oh yeah. For me it’s the original Baldur’s Gate, I could play it forever. I currently rotate between (the new) Chaos Gate and Phoenix Point for my turn-based tactics fix, though I’m thinking of trying something new like Invisible Inc or Phantom Brigade.

I seem to have lost my ability to play CRPGs; my patience disappears after a certain point. I always struggled a bit, but as I've gotten old its apparently become prohibitive.

I finally finished my Shadowheart playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3. Managed to find and complete a few things I hadn't before (collected all the pieces of Dribbles the Clown, the reward was definitely not worth it), failed at a few others (I stopped keeping track of who was who in the Gortash fight and accidentally had Wyll eldritch blast his own father to death), overall a satisfying conclusion even though the last act is still a slog to get through.

Probably will go back in soon playing a custom character.

I can usually push through to the end; though only if I’m enjoying myself. Still, Act 3 of BG3 is still a bit of a struggle; it really is a lot.

Oh yeah, that was definitely not worth it. I did like all the little murder scenes though.

You took on Gortash at the coronation? I’ve always been too scared: that’s a lot of Steel Watchers!

I don't recall exactly how it went (it was several months ago now, that's how long it took to get back into this playthrough), but I believe I managed to take down the Steel Watchers factory before going to see Gortash, having to fight my way through several guards and all the guests' bodyguards to get into the coronation. It felt like I'd sequence-broken in some fashion, because as soon as I got back out to the Lower City afterwards the Elder Brain ingratiatingly told me it had just done me the favour of disabling all the Steel Watchers.

I’ve always avoided confronting Gortash during the coronation. Last time I came in through the roof and dragged him outside telekinetically where I could beat him to death without his annoying traps.

My brother just bought me No Rest For The Wicked which I know nothing about. I guess I will have to do some research. I did see they got a co-op update (which is why he bought it I am sure).
