D&D 5E (2024) What Would You Like to See from D&D Beyond Drops?

How about functional home brew implementation? Drag and drop scroll creation. Actual useful campaign tools, like the ability to create a store with linked items.

DDB is bad for anything but a glorified storefront and a mediocre VTT. They get millions of dollars monthly and cant do better than a word document for campaign notes.
Much of this is tied to our game platform rebuild, which is currently underway internally. I can't promise that we'll support everything that you outlined (or in the exact way that you mentioned), but all of these issues (as well as many others) are at the forefront of our mind whilst we rebuild.

I really am glad you've got an eye on threads like these!! It's great to see our feedback being heard!!

Appreciate posts like these! The transparency of pre-WotC DNDB was one of my favorite things about the platform (Bad Eye Adam would do a monthly twitch stream and answer questions), and it went away after the acquisition. So y'all posting like this in communities is very nice to see :)

I think that'd be super cool!!

I've been rereading Netheril's Fall, and I find it odd that they didn't add a stat block for Karsus. "Use a lich stat block" doesn't really cut it, IMO. Something like Drops NPCs would be a great fix for that!
It baffles me when they don't give unique statblocks for major NPCs. VRGtR not having them for Darklords was weird, too. It's hard to imagine a version of Tomb of Annihilation that just told you to use the lich statblock for Acererak.

WOW, I honestly never expected a reply. Thank you, and good to hear on improvements!

I homebrew weird stuff a lot, so my biggest needs are creating custom weapon with masteries, something that does 2d8 topple or whatever and new warlock invocations.

Exactly!! If you're going to create an entire supplement around Karsus' flying city, you'd think that a stat block for the Main Guy in said flying city would be a worthwhile use of time to create.

I'm obsessed with reading feedback from folks (even negative feedback). Based on what I've seen, negative feedback still comes from a place of love for the game, which I can fully appreciate as a fan.

(It certainly helps that threads like these draw me in like a moth to a flame).

I still VIVIDLY remember winning a Legendary Bundle on one of Adam's dev updates in 2017 (it was directly before Thanksgiving, so Tomb of Annihilation had just come out), calling my gf (now wife) telling her in utter excitement (and frankly, disbelief) that I'd won a Legendary Bundle which meant a bunch of free books! She gently told me (in a less-than-impressed voice) "I'm happy for you, but I'm currently at work, so I have to go". :D

As cheesy as it sounds, I do honestly think we're at our best (Wizards and DDB both) when we're engaging with the community, and I'm ecstatic that we finally have leadership that lets us (and encourages us) to do that. While we aren't going to be perfect with everything we do or release, I think we're heading toward a healthier future that involves more of an open dialog with the community.

More of a general Maps idea than a Drops one, but I would love to see the tokens evolve from flat discs to more of a 3d, miniatures style.

Edit: I would also love to see some Level Up material on DDB. Right now I get them on PDF and import them myself, but it would be super cool to see material like their recent collection of low powered, high flavour magic items available.
