What's the best food?

The strict answer to the question is a Dynamite Roll

But I posit that this is a question wrongly asked.

The joy of food, of eating, is that there are so many flavors, so many textures, and how well or not they all fit together. The Dynamite Roll is the best roll that I know I can get at just about any sushi place, but most sushi restaurants have specials that are better, and even when they do not, I never just get a Dynamite Roll. The meal would be incomplete without sesame seaweed salad, to say nothing of any other rolls at the table to share with guests.

A close second would be a sourdough focaccia bread my wife makes with hot honey, chili crisp, and cheddar cheese.

My favorite flavor is probably good sweet cherries, but it's not the best food because I can and have eaten myself sick on them.

My favorite lunch is my homemade tomato bisque with a grilled cheese sandwich (havarti on sourdough), but that's two foods, so cheating.

Intellectually, the best food is probably eggs. They're nutritionally complete, delicious, and if done correctly, can be obtained with no animal welfare problems.

The one thing I will always get when I can is good, briny, cold water raw oysters (PacNW or northeast, you can have your Chesapeakes and your Gulfs). But that's likely more of a scarcity thing, since I'm in the midwest.

Probably my favorite food is "low country boil." Shrimp, crayfish, Conecuh sausage, maybe crab, corn on the cob, and lil baby potatoes, all steeped in Old Bay. Hard to beat.

My favorite food is bread, specifically sourdough. I can make a whole meal out of a rustic loaf of sourdough, a piece of fruit and cheese, and a glass of wine.

My favorite food is Beef Ribs.

But even I have to acknowledge that in terms of "best" in foodstuffs, it has to be some form of fresh baked bread.

FOUND THE POET!
Hey. My poetry might be terrible but my sourdough game is strong.
