Where Did Your Username Come From And How Old Is It?

Kind of related to usernames, do people have a reason behind their profile pic? Mine is because one time a friend called me a damn dirty ape, so I changed my profile pics and waited for him to notice.
Mines a human nervous system inverted with the brain groundward - its culturally meaningful and I think its beautiful

I got severe deja vu User Name and Avatars: Origin Stories

But apart from restating what I had already posted and being redundant... My username really is unique to Enworld. I haven't used it anywhere else, so if you find another Moonsong, odds are it isn't me. Only I think in Reddit I used something similar, but not equal. For a long long time I didn't stick with a single internet moniker and would eventually reset every couple years. I still kind of do because I rarely reuse names outside of a context -for example my gamer tag remains basically the same across platforms-. Anything is a good pretext, variations on letters taken from my name, my lunar zodiac sign, animals I like, celestial and nightly motifs.

I only regret losing one email due to disuse. I had lots of fun internet acquaintances with that email and I cannot contact them without it. I cannot even recover the email because I'd need a pc where I had started session, and I've lost both machines I used with that account.

I tend to think I do pretty well having a name from the late 90s but then some of you are like, "Well, it was the '80s," and I am like, "Welp."

Anyway - back in the days of TSR Chat I had a username that was often abbreviated to KoD. At some point I decided to just make a "nameified" version of that, and Kaodi was what I came up with. At this point I am extremely fuzzy on when the transition was. Obviously when Eric Noah's site came around I signed up as Kaodi. But I forget whether I used the previous name right up until the end of WotC Chat, or whether I had transitioned when it became WotC Chat, or sometime during its liftetime.

As for the picture a year or two before COVID my FLGS had its 20th or 25th anniversary (I was just back there for the first time in seven years two weeks ago) and the owner had a party and there was a woman there doing face painting. I was a bit reticent about getting my face painted as a 30-something dude and at this particular event but I asked her if she could paint something on the back of my hand instead and happily she was obliging. Among other things I thought it would be a nice gesture on my part to immortalize it as my avatar.

Mine is from DarkSouls. I like the mixture of bleak hopelessness with a beam of "hope". Exactly the tone I go for in my D&D games.

UngainlyTitan is relatively recent as in 8 or 9 years ago when I was playing World of Tanks a lot on xbox and posting videos about it on YouTube and decided to unify my online handles. Before that on here I had a userid that was the name of the area where I live.
The actual user name was randomly assigned to be with an additional number by Microsoft on creating my xbox account, (one of my nephews set up the account being impatient to play and not waiting for me to set stuff up) and I was initially going to change it but after seeing a Kinect photo of me and the youngest nephew jumping in some Kinect game I thought the name very appropriate and stuck with it.
The pic is the last dog I had.

I just decided to change mine to an old Disney image I found on this site.
