Who Should Make The Next Star Wars TTRPG, And What Should It Look Like?

Only for a low low price of 2000 credits! I guess he didn't have much time to bargain.

Um, Actually...

1. Obi-wan did the bargaining.
2. He used the force to swindle the rube he was selling it to. The guy wanted to pay less ($1600-1800 IIRC) until Obi-wan enchanted him.
3. This was in the radio plays, which Lucas considered to be the same level as canon as the movies and novelizations.

*Edit note: I changed this slightly, but since payn quoted it I'm changing it back. Close enough.

Jedi super good at rules lawyering exploits to their force doctrine, at least when it comes to gambling.

We never liked the icon dice system. Played one session with someone who understood them. Didn't catch with the group.

I want to say Free League, with the Year Zero Engine. Their books always look great.

But at the same time, I wouldn't buy it. How many version of a Star Wars RPG can a man buy in his life? For me, it was three (WEG, D20 and D20 Saga) and stopped there.

Year Zero Engine is great when it's a game about survival like Mutant or Twilight 2k or Alien. It's okay when you play bumbling kids. When you want to play competent heroes, it's pretty bad.

So I'd really stay away from a YZE Star Wars.

I would be intrigued by a Star Wars using the Resistance from Rowan, Rook and Decard.

I'm still team Star Wars 2d20. Make it happen, Modiphius!
In my hearts of hearts I secretly wish for Star Wars with the Dragonbane engine. It would recapture the simple fun of the WEG edition. It would be very difficult for me not to buy it. But Free League has said no to other genres for Dragonbane.

If you combine Dune 2d20 with INFINITY 2d20 sci-fi you could probably do a Star Wars 2d20 campaign.
