Who's excited about Blue Rose?

Just read about it on the front page. I'm stoked. This sounds exactly like the d20-lite game I've been day-dreaming about ever since I bought UA. Just the skill-based magic system alone is worth the buy. All the fluffy romantic elements are optional I assume? Can't wait. Who's with me?!?!

I'm really looking forward to it, but I'm already a year into a campaign that I just can't up and end to start fresh with it. Even though I think it might be fun to do just that.

Having read the preview, it looks pretty interesting. Soon to be starting up one or more campaigns, Masque, and possibly Wheel of Time, I do not know if I am ready to drop the cash for it right away. Usually I wait to read a review of a product before I buy it, but in this case as well as in the case of Masque, it may just have to be one of my 'impulse' buys.

I don't know that I'd use everything from it -- and the source material eventually gives me saccharine overdose -- but it looks like it'll have a lot of ideas well worth plundering, if nothing else, possibly even including the setting.

Only if it wrapped in a plain brown package. I got a bone to pick with their title art.

Oddly enough I'm tempted to buy it just for the Stephanie Law art. Hopefully her art is inside as well as outside.

I find Blue Rose very interesting mechanically, I am not sure I'd like the setting though. Since my budget is very limited these days, I'll be waiting for reviews anyhow

I'm very intrested in Blue Roses new lite rules. I miss Basic D&D rules and have high hopes for Blue Rose. I will buy it because the rules seem very intresting and easy to use in some campaigns (no minis, no tactical warfare in dungeons, no fireballs).

I just got a look at the preview. What looks good is the world and the romantic ambiance. I am interested in this, and I am looking forward to take a look at this game just for that reason. I do like how races and alignments are handled, but now I want to see if it's more than a new fluff on otherwise usual basic concepts (i.e.: if "shadow" just renames "evil" what's the point?).

But heck, I have a tendancy for being enthusiast at many d20-based new things.

Edit: mmmh... well, after taking a closer look my enthusiasm is wearing down. So they have a hit-damage system based on that of Mutants & Masterminds, three classes (Adept, Expert, Warrior) that use skills and feats, and a magic system that is closely based on the Psychic's Handbook psionic system. Then they have a new campaign setting... :\ But the cover art is really nice for sure.

I agree with many above. My tinkering with the rules has led to many of the same elements listed for Blue Rose: 3 classes (Adept, Expert, & Warrior), collapsed skill list, skill/feat magic. Wow! Now there will be a polished and (hopefully) thoroughly-playtested set of rules. I know the "romance" part may put off the hardcore combat junkies, but the rules look good enough on their own.
