Worst Movie ever (...according to rottentomatoes)

Just looked through the Worst Movies Ever list on rottentomatoes.


IMPORTANT NOTE: Please keep in mind, that this list is not supposed to be the ultimate worst movies ever list, but rather a list compiled from the rottentomatoes database, listing the 100 worst movies according to their rottentomatoes rating (which is the percentage of positive as opposed to negative reviews the movie got from several more or less known reviewers). Some movies aren't even on the list at all, since they have not had enough reviews total (like Highlander II, which by its current rt rating (0% !!) would be a clear #1), which is the sole reason why they are not there (and not because they are somehow thought to be better than those hundred).


This line from the #1 on that list is just too hilarious:

When a movie is widely regarded as being inferior to its own Game Boy adaptation, you know "worst movie ever" is not only apt, it might actually be an understatement.

The actual Worst Movie Ever Actually has 11% fresh?! Because 1 of the 9 reviews actually liked it?!

The point of that site is actually not to give a precise rating, but to give the mean of several reviews.

So the Top 100 lists on there (there are quite a few of those) are certainly not to be meant to be seen as the ultimate truth, but only site-specific.

That is because it is beyond the rating system in bad, very few movies can be professionally bad but it is. Also, people who see it go insane and scream to others DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE EVER, PERIOD! IT WILL EAT YOUR SOUL!

I skimmed the "top" 50, and I don't think I've seen one movie on that list. I wouldn't be surprised if I've only seen one or two of the entire 100.

I spent five minutes of my life (can I have them back?) going through the list and I'd say all of them came out in the last 7 or 8 years. Pluto Nash might be the oldest. So I'm betting they only pulled ratings on movies that were released since the site went up, rather than go back into the archive and include movies that were certainly on VHS or DVD.

But I agree, Highlander II is an experience. I believe I left about 2/3rds the way through, much later than other people in the theater.
