WotC WotC announces D&D Community Advisory Group

NDAs are sketchy by definition.

They should be banned in about 95% of the situations where they are commonly used.
Most of the time they are used to protect confidential trade secrets, product information, and information that competitors can use. Client lists, business strategies, financial data. Maybe the people involved have been told about product schedules which have not yet been released to the public.

The 'sketchy' ones you are thinking of are the 5%, not 95%.

Exactly. Most of the NDAs out there we never even hear of them existing because they are so disinteresting that they never get mentioned in the first place.

It's only the few times when like some corp tries to silence a whistleblower that we hear about an NDA being in effect.

I had to sign one when I was part of the failed Volunteer Community Lead (VCL) program right before the switch to gleemax fiasco. and while I was part of it got me a threatening message on my answering machine at the time which I reported to cops and WotC at the time.
