[XPH] Focused Sunder, Soul Knife and other assorted questions.

Under Focused Sunder it says that you expend your psionic focus to ignore half the hardness of a weapon or shield you wish to sunder. Then, under "Special" it says that you can detect the stress points in doors and stone walls and ignore their hardness, BUT it does not say you have to expend your psionic focus to do so. Is this an oversight? Do you need to expend psionic focus to ignore half the hardness of doors/walls?

Under Soul Knife, it says their Skill Points are (4 + Int Modifier) x 4. But then under the Xeph Soulknife Starting Package (table on page 29) it tells you to pick a number of skills equal to 5 + Int modifier. Shouldn't this be 4 + Int modifier or an I missing something? Do Xeph's get bonus skill points or something (like Humans do)?

For the Psion, I see a lot of references to their powers being based on Intelligence. On page 20 under Abilities:

Abilities: Intelligence determines how powerful a power a psion can manifest, how many powers he can manifest, and how hard those powers are to resist.

Then under Power Points/Day:

... In addition, he recieves bonus power points per day if he has a high Intelligence score (see Table 2-1: Ability Modifiers and Bonus Power Points).

But then on page 18 under "How to Determine Bonus Power Points" it says that the key ability score grants you additional power points. Huh? Which is it? Does a Psion need a good Int AS WELL AS a good key ability (based on their discipline choice)?

Int IS the key ability for all Psions. But Wilders and Psychic Warriors also get bonus power points, and their key ability scores are not Int.

How about Focused Sunder?

That's clearly stated in the first sentence of the benefit paragraph.

Special just adds some more options, but doesn't make it work completely different.

Other questions: What they said.

No, a psion (telepath) has no use for Charisma at all, except as it impacts his skill choices. All psions use Int to determine what level of powers they can manifest, the save DC for those powers, and bonus power points. Psychic Warriors use Wis for the same things, and Wilders use Charisma.

Let me repeat... ALL psions use Intelligence for everything... bonus power points, DC, level of powers they can manifest, etc.

There are *no* discipline specific stats any more. The only thing your discipline affects are the psion's class skill selection and the powers they are able to select from.
