Yeenoghu

Desdichado

Legend
I was a little disappointed to see that James Jacobs didn't write this one, but hey, RJS is a great choice to step in. He's got demonstrated fiendish creds by now, and has had for some time.

Gnolls and Yeenoghu both never really caught my attention until 4e--maybe it's the 4e MM art by Steve Prescott as well as the art in this article, but suddenly I'm finding them intrigueing for the first time ever. I like how they made Yeenoghu serious again; he's kinda seemed a bit of a joke as a demon lord before now.

I'd love to see a 3.5 conversion of Yeenoghu to go along with the rest of my Demonomicon articles, though. Anyone want to take a stab at it?

Well... I can see that Yeenoghu has really set the fans on fire. :ohwell:

Someone at WotC likes gnolls, I'm sure. They became more interesting and important in 3e already, and the 4e developments look very good to me.

Considering that Yeenoghu was one of the demon princes in 1e MM, along with Juiblex, Demogorgon and Orcus, it's a bit surprising that he was so underused for a long time. Well, no more!
