According to the D&D Beyond site for the physical books, "Arcana Unleashed" is $50 for 160 pages and "Arcana Unleashed: Deadfall" is $30 for 128 pages, making a total of $80 for 288 pages of content. Compare this to other recent releases such as "Ravenloft: The Horrors Within" and "Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun", both of which are $60 for 288 pages.

You are paying $20 more for the same amount of pages. I can understand wanting to separate the adventure from the rules, but I don't like having to pay a lot more moola for the same amount of content.

Huh. And we have a book crowdfunding right now for £50 for 360 pages. I'm behind the times! It always used to be hard to match WotC's prices as they had massive economies of scale, but now we're cheaper than them!

Eh. Everything is more expensive these days. RPGs have long been underpriced considering the value and production costs.

I'm fine with prices NOT increasing, but I'm not bent out of shape when they do.

Will be picking up the limited cover of Arcana Unleashed at my FLGS and the DDB digital books for both titles and the map pack. Looking forward to it!

WotC prints in the US directly, which has been getting more expensive due to...artificial market volatility for reasons beyond the scope of this discussion.

so the return of the boxed set, for the price of the boxed set, minus the box…

But you are more modular. With the box set you have to buy everything, but if you only want the rules or the adventure than you can buy only that.

About the price itself .. it's bad that there is a price increase, but I don't think we should compare the price with the pages too much, it is much more important how good the stuff on the pages is.

At the moment everything is quickly becoming more expensive, I think decreasing the pagecount but keeping the same book-price is better than keeping the pagecount but increasing the price-sticker. Increasing the price could easily stop many players from beeing able to afford it.

High level content has often been requested- "why is there so little high level content?!" "Because so few games go that high!" "That's because there's so little content for it!" chicken and the egg. As someone that has run high level DnD5e/A5E etc a bunch in the recent years, I'm glad other folk enjoy it because I get burnt out on it quickly.

I'll be interested to see how this wizard war adventure pans out... The last high level 5e adventure, Vecna, was a bit of a joke as far as challenge went.. and was a straightforward theme park ride complete with tracks.

This one sounds like it may be a bit more open, but there's only so much one can tell from a couple sentences of text.

yes, you can buy them separately, Doesn’t really justify the $20 more for the same number of pages vs RtHW from my perspective

we have no idea about the content and I doubt it is significantly better than pretty much everything they have done until now

That certainly isn’t how it worked out for Spelljammer

they increased the sticker price with 5.5 already…
