I don't understand why people let animals sleep in the bed with them. I'm a light sleeper. I would wake up with every twitch. If I had children they wouldn't sleep in the bed with me either. You can tough it out in your own room during the thunderstorm. Bad dream? You ain't see nothing. I've punched things in my sleep. I don't want to have to explain the kid's black eye.

The kids did not sleep in the bd with us. The dogs do not sleep in the bed. But the cats was a loosing fight. One of them used to like to curl up behind my knees and I would wake up sweating. I think my snoring kept them near the bottom of the bed.

I've had cats for most of my life - they've all been allowed to sleep in the bed if they want. Their purring helps my wife sleep, even..

They don't get up to shenanigans to wake us up - they get fed in the evening, so they have no real need to wake us up in the morning.

Our cats love to sleep with people and are good company. One sometimes pesters rarely for food, but he’s the sort who’ll make tentative pestering about their 6 pm meal around 3. Or 2. Or 11 am. Or while eating breakfast.
