D&D General Your last adventure in photos.

My group went down into "The Swirl" this week. It connected with one of the character's backstories, his amnesia, his sudden catatonic states, etc. So, they downed a Potion of Dolphin's Breath, hitched a ride on a fishing vessel from an NPC who had become a friend, jumped in a little rowboat, and then proceeded to get sucked down.

It was primarily combat, with movement limited to them switching places with one another. And then the baddies came. The entire whirlpool was a creation of the Cursed Realm, and at the bottom was the Squid Queen, Haba (anagram for Ahab, which connects to the antithesis of the region which is transcendental in theme). The PC found out his past, and only three of the members had to roll on the death table. (I did warn them it was very combat heavy and deadly ahead of time).

Each picture is a wave of enemies, and of resist challenges for the pressure as they were pulled down deeper into the water. The last fight they were on land, surrounded by a wall of swirling water. But overall, it was a tight quarters, heavy combat, and fear inducing session. A good break from our last session. (For those curious, there are seven players, so each "layer" lasted only two rounds. Any longer, and it would have taken forever. Basically, a couple rounds with big ol sharks, then some Cursed sharks, then Cursed squids, and then the Squid Queen herself with aquatic hydra.)
