Languages: Common, Draconic
Skill Bonuses: +2 Stealth, +2 Endurance
Posion Resistance: You have poison resistance equal to 5 + one-half your level.
Snake-Like Reflexes: You gain a +1 racial bonus to your Reflex defense. In addition, you gain a +2 racial bonus to saving throws against restrained and immbolizing effects.
Venom Infusion: You can use the venom infusion as an encounter power.


Venom Infusion Yuan-Yi Racial Power
Encounter* Poison
Free Action
Trigger: You hit a target with an attack.
Effect: Make a secondary attack, Dex+2, Str+2, or Char+2 vs Fort.
Hit: Target takes ongoing 5 poison damage (save ends).
11th level +4 vs Fort: Target takes ongoing 10 poison damage (save ends).
21th level +6 vs Fort: Target takes ongoing 15 poison damage (save ends).
Second Failed Saving Throw: Target fails prone.
Special: If the initial attack already deals poison damage, increase Venomous Bite's ongoing poison damage by 5.

Venom-Bearer Features

Improved Venom (11th level): The traget of your Venom Infusion power now becomes dazed (save ends) on their failed second saving throw.
Venom Empowerment (11th): When you spend an action point to take an additional attack action, when you hit with the attack, you can add poison to the keyword and the attack also adds to the effect: The target also takes 5 ongoing poison damage (save ends) and on the second failed saving throw, the target falls prone. The damage increases to 10 ongoing poison damage at 21st level.
Penetrable Vemon: Your ongoing poison effects from your Venom Infusion and Venom Empowerment ignore poison resistance equal to your Poison Resistance racial feature and bypass immunity to poison damage.



Well got part of it done. Will get back to it later but really want to know whatcha think of the features.

Nice idea, i always liked the Yuan-Ti :)

I like the flavour of the yuan-Ti, but I think you were a little too generous with racial benefits ;) I think you7 should definetly change Venemous Bite, see my suggestion below:

Venemous Bite Yuan-Ti Racial Power

Encounter* Poison
Free Action
Trigger: You hit one target with a melee attack
Effect: Make a secondary attack using Str/Dex/Con +3/11th:+6/21st:+9 vs Fortitiude:
Hit: In addition to all effects of the triggering attack the target takes ongoing 5 poison damage(save ends).
11th level: Ongoing 10 poison damage(save ends)
21st level: Ongoing 15 poison damage (save ends)

Special: If the intiial attack already dealt ongoing poison damage, increase the amount of ongoing damage dealt by that attack by 5
First failed saving throw: The target falls prone.


What do you think? This way you get to use your racial ability as a free action, your cance at hitting are better but you have to hit with another attack in the first place and deal less damage to balance the advantage of a free action attack out. It would without a doubt be a strong racial power, but as far as I can say it would not break the game.

And i have to admit I`m totally lost when it comes to Snakeskin: If you do not wear any armor you are considered to be wearing Leather armor, di I get this right? And any class would be proficient with this natural armor. But what do you want to explain with the extend rest upgrade is beyond me :confused: Are Yuan-Ti supposed to be able to change any armor they wear on their body to Leather? Or can they enchant any armor as if it were leather? i really don`t get it.

I am fine with a speed of 7 as a base speed, seeing how the are slithering reptiloids.

When it comes to racial feats and the like I would definetely vote for a feat that lets Yuan-Ti use their racial ablity on a ranged attack.

I would focus on poison damage and maybe include a Paragon Utility which would allow you to assume human shape so that the yuan-Ti does not always give himself away at first glance.

lol I guess what I meant to say was that you gain the Armor Proficiency (leather) feat for free since it is your skin and that if you get new leather armor, you can spend an extended rest to sort of gain the properties of that armor. But I will just make it bonus +2 AC. Also I like that free action is a good idea but will prolly keep it Str, Dex, and Char to make it work for the race. I don't know about making it drop prone after the first fail though, prolly make it the second one since the poison would take awhile to affect him?
 

I can see why you did not want to complicate matters, but frankly it does not work as written. If you make it +2 AC, then why would any defender play a different race? Heck, even if I were not a tank I would not pass that up in a fit.

Even if you made it +2 armor bonus, so it did not stack with armor, you have still got a race that is far and away the best unarmored fighter. Avengers, barbarians and monks would flock to it.

Guys made out of crystals, scales and metal don't get a bonus to AC for other races.

I would also be reluctant to make the bite attack trigger off hitting with a melee attack. This makes it useless for any casters. What about just having a minor action attack without the trigger?

I would like to see a heroic perk that gives a tail-bash, one that gives a grab on the bite and a paragon that gives a tail-grab.

Also, check the weight, IMO they would be a LOT heavier, given the pictures.
