Great tutorial, as usual! I've been using photoshop for a while now, but I learn something new every week by watching this podcast.

I can't wait for the lake tutorial.

Thanks again for bringing this to us.

You're doing a great job with the podcasts. I hope you make a mint on the book. Layout looks good, too.

I'll snap it up as soon as it's ready-- my biggest problem with tutorials is constantly forgetting what I learned.

What I'd love to see...

More generalized tutorials about working with the Photoshop program.

Things like, oh, The Pen tool, clone stamp, healing brush, etc.

You mentioned Campaign Cartographer (which is a great mapping program). I agree that the program can create a cartoonish feel at times. But my biggest problem with it, is the relatively high learning curve.

Plus, I've been using photoshop for so long that, because I'm intimately familiar with the windows and the toolset, I found it difficult to deal with the new interface.

I wish I would have had these tutorials when I did my Blood Throne CS. One of the things I didn't like about the book (just me being picky I suppose) was the maps.

I'm using these tutorials to go back in and create new, detailed maps which I'll be offering as free downloads on my yahoo group.

Thanks! Photoshop really is an incredibly deep program. I think there's always something new to be learned with it, no matter how long you've been using it!

I want to get Creative suite 3.

I hear it has a neat Perspective tool that might be fun to create images (possibly maps with some depth?), and as a layout artist. Indesign 3 is looking amazing.

There's a lot more of this sort of thing in my weekly Photoshop tips on my website, although I try to hit them as they come up in the podcast.

Eventually, I'm envisioning that the Photoshop podcast will morph into a more general cartography podcast, where I'll talk about other programs like Camapaign Cartographer, Fractal Terrains, Google Sketchup, and Bryce. That's still quite a ways off, though!

Very good episode. You covered many new things about using color in Photoshop that I just never would have realized/discovered on my own. I REALLY looking forward to the topic next week!!!

Thanks! I was almost afraid I'd gone too far afield this week, since I only spent the last two or three minutes of the show actually doing anything on the map!

Next week's episode is going to be really fun. I just hope I'll be able to fit it all into 10 minutes!
