LL uses a different tier. Possibly from BECMI? Plate is 250. Best starter you can get is AC 4 at about 75 gold plus another 10 for a shield for AC 3.

It's Large figure Troll sized. Works just fine as a Troll mini more or less.

I find the combat fine. AC is definitely king. You don't want to get hit. And most of the front liners get to AC 3 pretty quick if not start out that way. Add in Dex bonus and/or eventually plate and they are fairly topped off at level 1 until they start finding magic gear.

You are right. I will max everyone's stats out next game and hand out Vorpal weapons for everyone! And don't tell my the players wouldn't be on board with that for atleast a while.

actual play? 2.5 hours. Used to be 3.5 but we had to cut back an hour for adulting stuff.

Started watching the OD&D video. How the fudge is this 6 hours long? So far an hour in its the history of D&D. Pretty fun for just chatting.

Doing a small amount of research these are apparently "Vinyl figures" as in vinyl statues. Which seems to make me think these are meant for display. But STILL I can get a vinyl statue of a more detailed wizard (or damn near anything else) that is 4X larger for $20. The price is still ridiculous.

I would assume they had to approve it though.

In my current game the Thief decides to Hide/MS and scout ahead. She failed the check of course due to sucking at her job, 6 Goblins got the jump on her and she died. Luckily her sister was nearby to take her place.

Aside from a few minor changes to avoid any lawsuit or whatever, not much is different. It’s biggest selling point is that it is free.

I've ran 5E since it came out and rarely have I had "Oh 5E? Have room for another player?" For the last 2 weeks I've been running B/X (via Labyrinth Lord) and each time we've played (once per week) I've had an older gamer come and ask "Oh are you playing Basic? Have room for 1 more?" Brings...
