As far as I know thats it.Hardhead said:

As the story goes they were elves that lived in the Yuirwood of Algorond and eventually escaped into a demi-plane. They stayed there so long that the plane changed their very nature.
They are only appearing now because some creatures (apparently from the "far plane) have appeared and are invading their demi-plane.

The Star Elves were created for Unapproachable East because the designers felt that there weren't enough elf subraces in Faerun.

You know, I love the Realms...I set my campaigns there...but thems a lot of elves!
