First Post
Just created a new monster (well, set of monsters) - this post is mostly to share, but I'm open to suggestions as to how I might improve it. In particular, I'm not sure if Mummy's Rot is the right disease to use - diseases (unfortunately) aren't searcheable on the compendium, and Mummy's Rot was the first thing I could think of that would capture the effect of having necrotic worms eating their way through your internal organs.
Anyway, here goes:
Anyway, here goes:
Plaguegrub Hydra Level 11 Elite Brute
Large, natural, animate XP 1,200Initiative +5 Senses Perception +9; darkvision
HP 300; Bloodied 150
m Bite (standard; at-will)
Reach 2; +14 vs AC; 1d8 + 5 damage and ongoing 5 necrotic damage (save ends)
M Hydra Fury
The plaguegrub hydra makes 4 bite attacks.
Many-Headed
Each time the plaguegrub hydra becomes dazed or stunned, it instead loses one attack with its Hydra Fury power on its next turn. Multiple such effects stack.
Lop Off Its Heads!
The plaguegrub hydra permanently loses one bite attack the first time it drops below 225, 150 and 75 hit points. Each time this happens, the plaguegrub hydra automatically uses its Consuming Grubs power.
C Consuming Grubs (no action)
Close blast 3 or close burst 1 (DM's choice); +12 vs Reflex; 10 necrotic damage, and if the target loses any hit points from the attack it is exposed to level 13 mummy's rot (MM pg. 192) and a plaguegrub swarm is created in one of the target's spaces.
Threatening Reach
A plaguegrub hydra can make opportunity attacks against all enemies within its reach (2 squares).

Plaguegrub Swarm
Level 11 Minion Brute

natural beast
XP 150
Initiative
+7
Senses Perception +6; blindsight, tremorsense
m Engulf (standard; at-will) • Necrotic
+12 vs Reflex; 5 necrotic damage, and the plaguegrub swarm shifts into one of the target's spaces.
M Burrow through the Flesh (standard; at-will) • Necrotic, Disease
Target: a creature with which the plaguegrub swarm shares a space
+12 vs Fortitude; 10 necrotic damage. If the target loses hit points to this attack, it is exposed to level 13 mummy's rot (MM pg. 192) and a new plaguegrub swarm is created adjacent to the target.
Get Them Off!
When the plaguegrb swarm shares a space with another creature (except as a result of that creature moving through its space), the following occurs: that creature is dazed; the plaguegrub swarm moves with the creature whenever the creature moves or is moved; and the creature takes half of any damage inflicted on the plaguegrub swarm (save ends all three). If the creature makes this save, the creature pushes the plaguegrub swarm into an unoccupied adjacent square of the creature's choice.
Ooze of Grubs
A plaguegrub swarm moves normally through difficult terrain and can squeeze through small spaces as if it were a tiny creature.
