With a sigh Shayuri moved along with the others. Though she didn't seem wholly on board with this 'distraction' one couldn't fault her for not giving the 'innocent transaction' play her all...she was quite animated in her haggling and inspecting wares. Of course, all that came at a certain cost. It was hard to concentrate on reading others when focused on the performance. Bluff Sense...

It was fear that drove Mei-Ying away...it was shame that almost kept her from coming back. Only remembering young Teea convinced her to face that shame. That others had succumbed to the haunting as well was no excuse. She was expected to be better than that. To be caught off-guard was a reminder not to be off-guard. For Teea's sake, for her own sake, she would learn this lesson. Mei got...

It would be nice to give it the extra range so you could use it with its names sake. Right now I'm not sure why you would take it instead of the other GFB or Booming blade. I think the extra range would be an interesting choice versus the extra damage the other two deal. That being said I haven't memorized the MM and don't know how common weakness to force damage is.

At 10th level you can grant allies they ability to spend hit dice without a rest (AND they can remove 1 lev exhaustion). Of course, lots of other abilities in there, but these two stood out. Do you want to be cool? Be a sorcerer. I’ve seen wizards. They play almost exactly the same at higher level as they do at low. Sorcerers change more I think. At low levels sorcery points might be few, they add versatility but at high levels the almost unused 1st and 2nd level spell slots get to do something useful other than spamming shield.

It would depend on how a player describes using imagination in response to a scenario by the DM. A low Wisdom character might be very imaginative, but they daydream to much to notice what's going on around them. Likewise a low Intelligence character could be very imaginative, but not able to recall anything they read or heard yesterday.

That being said, expectations in an organized play setting should be different than a home game or stand alone outside of organized play. They all offer different experiences, none of which are 'wrong' or 'better', just different.

But it's not strictly better at low level, it's almost strictly worse. The fact that it can do something else at the cost of being good at this just means both features are bad. I'll take one good feature over a feature that barely competes if it uses all of a resource shared between features. Metamagic is good, but then you've no answer to Arcane Recovery as a class.

We don't see enough to know if his senses engaged. And, Peter went to ash in the Big Snap too. If Peter is back, there's no known reason for Fury to not be back. Yes, it could be Mysterio makes illusions of villains, and then fights the illusions. Or, it is possible that the Elementals and Mysterio are all bad, but after the same thing - in the comics the Elementals were trying to...

Boosting damage to 1d12 but doing fire damage is pretty much a neutral trade. So it's really not worth an invocation slot. (Which are rare and precious!) But, if you make it Brimstone do 1d12+Cha, so that you can take it instead of Agonizing Blast (Agonizing Blast is pretty much an automatic pick for a warlock), then you create an interesting new option that isn't any more powerful than what a...

Yes but that's not the point. The point is either the argument can be that Sorcery Points are on par with Arcane Recovery, or on par with the Wizard's larger spells known, but not with both. Sorry if that was unclear.

Breath of Night: Will do! Thanks. Brimstone: Does it mean you think that 1d12 is still too weak to justify changing force for fire? Would 2d6 be better? I'm really sorry but I cant do math, so sometime I have a hard time making balanced stuff. Also my players wouldnt be able to optimize a character if their lives depended on it, so many OP elements just doesnt appear in my games, which is a...

You already have more dice combinations available to you than you may think e.g. D16, D24, D60 etc. The below post outlines a simple method to get access to these non-standard dice: https://goblinshenchman.wordpress.com/2019/01/09/die-from-two-dice/

I try to play a lot of different game systems at Gary Con, the very reason being the high GM quality. I played Traveller and Battletech last year, and the GM's involved knew their stuff inside and out. Makes sense really, if you are running Traveller at a convention in 2018, you are super into Traveller! As a side not, if you end up liking Gary Con (which I suspect you will), you should...

Yea, I agree it's kind of a facile analysis. If I gave someone a choice between an 8 charge wand that cast magic missile or a 6 charge wand that casts magic missile, shield, and find familiar, most people are going to take the latter. Having X, Y, and Z is usually better than just more X.

What about a druid that worships nature gods or nature itself and uses ritual sacrifice to appease them and as a way to gain power.

I would say that since it is a scroll of Iceball then you would be able to scribe Iceball into your spell book.

Breath of Night: I'd make it base level or level 5, not level 11. Brimstone: Make it also add your Charisma modifier to damage per beam, but it doesn't stack with Agonizing Blast. So you can take Brimstone and do 1d12+Cha fire damage, or take Agonizing Blast and do 1d10+Cha force damage. If you really want options of damage type, you can take both. Eldritch Chain: So that's an...

I am glad they did not make a Tasha Yar episode out of her departure. Nor going into the politics of why. Some say scheduling, some say on-set friction, some say conflict of interesting dating the producer/star of the show, etc. No mater the reason, it was a classy send-off with the potential of future guest/recurring role on the show. And of course having two Star Trek alumni guests...

I haven't found any news. The only thing I could find was a mention that the free players guide would be available Fall 2018. But I don't think it is. No updates, no status anywhere except for that one web page, which I don't think has been updated since the original announcement :( Anyone else hear otherwise?

It is interesting to see where Mysterio's illusions begin/ends. Some online are saying that Spider-Man/Peter Parker got into the illusion BEFORE Nick Fury shows up (cause he is part of the illusion - could still be "dead"), and a reason the Spider-senses did not go off. And if the fight with the elementals are part of the illusion or part of reality. See, I am a "good guy" misdirection.

The problem with this line of reasoning is that you are comparing the least effective way to use sorcery points with the only way to use Arcane Recovery. If you only ever use your sports car to commute to work at 25 miles an hour, you won't see any advantage over a cheap sedan. But that's because you're not using the sports car for the thing it was built to do. Creating spell slots is...

Magic Initiate (Wizard) is a great choice for a melee cleric, to get BB/GFB and another utility cantrip of your choice, plus 1/day Find Familiar or Absorb Elements. Yep. This is why a different type of Cleric with access to a melee cantrip is often a better option for a melee cleric than a War Cleric. Clerics have better things to do with their bonus actions than taking a measly 3-5...
