Combat Reflexes and Flat Footed

With the feat 'combat reflexes' you can make attacks of oppertunity while flat fooded. According to the rules you are not flat-footed anymore as soon as you do your first action. If that first action is an AOO gained due to the feat, are you still flat-footed?

I am interested in this, because my fighter's favourite weapon is a glaive and he has got combat reflexes.

No, you're flat-footed until your first turn in the initiative cycle.

AoOs happen out of turn, so until your intiative count comes up, you're still flat-footed.

Okay, here's my take on this without referencing the rules (my PHB is not handy, please correct any actual rules errors).

1. An AoO is an action (a free action, mind you, but still an action).

2. You cannot take an AoO while flat-footed.

3. Combat Reflexes creates an exception to (2) in that you DO get to take an AoO while flat-footed.

4. You are flat-footed until your first action (NOT until you take your turn).

5. If all the above statements are true, then if you have Combat Reflexes and happen to get an AoO before your turn, that's when you become "un-flat-footed."

This is an advantage of having Combat Reflexes - but you only get it if someone gives provokes an AoO from you.
