I have decided to begin a blog on Gaming that will be hosted on EN World. The blog will be called Tome and Tomb and will detail my thoughts, and the thoughts of others, on all aspects of gaming, wargaming, simulations, design, Transferable Skill Simulations, coding, and any other related subject that I consider relevant to these issues.
Over time I will post entries on Game Design, Role Playing Games, Alternative and Parallel Role Playing Games, Wargaming, Video and Computer Games, Virtual Reality Games and Virtual Reality Environments, Technology, Vadding, and popular culture. I will also include posts and articles on theory and design, as well as some of my other related writings. In time I also intend to post on the development of my own games, and game milieus.
I may also post on other subject matters, as the fancy strikes me, such as history, politics, religion, science, writing, music, and art.

The Games
Listed below are brief descriptions of each role-playing game and what they are about. Following the descriptions of the role playing games are briefings on individual adventures, scenarios, or missions for each game so that interested parties can get some idea of what adventures and campaigns would be like in each game.
I created, designed, or modified most of these particular games or game settings.
Terra Ghantik – Dungeons and Dragons world setting/milieu.
Outland Frontier – A Pulp, Western, Horror/Weird Game set in the early to mid 1900s. Players will take on the role of Pulp Adventurers (like Doc Savage, Indiana Jones, etc) and will investigate and fight against criminals, rogues, other adventurers, tyrannical government agents and corrupt officials, gunfighters, serial killers, cults, weird and strange and even supernatural occurrences.
Hammerstroke – A Game set in the modern world in which players are part of a team that includes military personnel, government agents, law enforcement agents, and special civilian personnel. This team investigates and works against everything from street level organized crime, to serial killings and mass murders, to operational international terrorist cells and weapons’ smuggling rings, and modern piracy.
Enigma – A game set in the modern world dealing with crime, mystery, horror, weird and even supernatural events, and (super)heroes (although the superheroes are not of the type normally associated with superhero games – they are more like covert and private agents with very unusual powers and abilities that change over time). Enigma is the sister game to Hammerstroke, and missions and adventures sometimes overlap, but Enigma involves characters who are primarily civilian and amateurs rather than professionals.
Artifice – A Futuristic/Science Fiction game using Traveller and similar game engines for adventuring and role-play in space. However in Artifice the players do not play humans but rather creatures and beings who are alien, artificial, mechanical, etc. Artifice is the sister game to Spheres of Influence and missions and scenarios often overlap.
Spheres of Influence – A Futuristic/Science Fiction game set in the Star Trek universe. However unlike most Star Trek/Star Fleet games this one is set along the far frontier of the Federation and most missions take place beyond and outside the borders of the Federation. Players are posted aboard an experimental/prototype hybrid Federation/Alien ship that routinely explores deep outside the borders of the Federation and into unknown space. Players will investigate alien worlds, bases, devices, and cultures, as well as bizarre, weird, unknown, and previously unexplored territory. The game uses the same role playing engines and mechanics as Artifice but uses Star Fleet Battles as a game engine for Ship’s combat. The game will be a combination of role-play and ship’s combat.
