Is a centaur considered mounted???

For purposes of calculating damage is my centaur considered mounted?
Could he seriously entertain the idea of taking spirited charge as a feat?

As a GM I would say no. Only for the reason that you can not make the pre-reqs of Ride 1 rank, Mounted Combat and Ride-by Attack.

Instead take the feat Powerful Charge from the Ebberon core book or MM3. It has no pre-req other than BA +1 and as a large creature adds 2d6 to your damage dealt after a charge.

Just with the lance. The mounted combat feats / PRCs will be of no help.

"A centaur employing a lance deals double damage when it charges, just as a rider on a mount does."

Hell, you have to two hand the lance since you only get the double damge effect and not the rest of a lances benefits.

There is a magic peircing weapon property in the MiC that lets you make attacks as touch attacks a couple of times per day.

Combo that with a Frenied Beserker or leap aattck for sickness.

From Centaur in the SRD:

Combat
A centaur employing a lance deals double damage when it charges, just as a rider on a mount does.

I'm a bit late

Ya in FR?

Races of Faerun: "Racial Feats: none, but centaurs can acquire the Spirited Charge and Trample feats (ignoring the prerequisites) and apply the benefits to thier own melee attacks"

Can't wait to pick up this soon-to-be "secondhand" book when 4e comes around.

For every dark hurricane cloud there is a silver lining.

let the halfling ride him and then they're both "mounted" if they use lances......two simultaneous attacks on a charge could probably be ruled that one is an attack of opportunity, which makes it pure WEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAW!

yeah that brings me to my next point. If a centaur is mounted by a paladin how do they deliver the double charge on the dame target?
And yeah. wow that is a totally disgusting combo. So much damage at once.
