Can monks imbue their unarmed attacks with abilities like keen or vorpal? Or can bracers or something be made to give a monk these abilities?

No. If they want those kind of abilities, they'll have to use a normal weapon with those enhancements.

If you have Monte Cook's Arcana Unearthed or Arcana Evolved, there's a ceremonial feat in there that allows unarmed strikes to be enhanced like magic weapons. But no such method in Wizards of the Coast products, AFAIK.

Special abilities... why not. Keen or Vorpal would require Versatile Unarmed Strike before, because they only work witk slashing weapons, and an unarmed strike is bludgeoning.

Just use the Monk Tattoos concept from Magic of Faerun.

Like +1 Monk Tattoos as a weapon enhancement would run 4000gp. 2000gp for the +1 Effect, and x2 for not taking up a slot.

In addition to the Kensei PrC, there is a magic item in Savage Species (Necklace of <something>... Claws, maybe?) that allows natural attacks to be enhanced as weapons.

I believe it's this:

We let the amulet of mighty fists carry special effects. It just costs 3 times as much as the equivalent weapon.

Also, not to nitpick, but thanks to different writers taking on the same topic, the Kensei class is very different from the Kensai class, and it is the latter that allows you to imbue your body with enhancements for XP. (Same base concept - oriental sword-saint - but there are different classes written using variants of the name.)

I checked SS... it's called a "Necklace of Natural Weapons". (Very original.) It costs 600gp + the cost of enhancements x the number of natural attacks affected.
