Newbie 4e questions, divine challenge etc...

1. Divine Mettle states target makes a saving throw at +3, do they mean the next one? Or someone afflicted by a condition can make a saving throw during the pally's turn? Would it help in diseases whic happen at the end of a enounter?

2. Is Divine Challenge perpetual? Or does it last one round as long as you keep attacking the target . Can you be adjacent an attack another monster and still keep teh mark o nthe first one? So basically a Divine Challeng last one turn as opposed to 2 by a normal mark? (combat challenge)

3.Combat Challenge- can a fighter keep marking a different mob each turn?

4. Is the Skeletons mark the same as a fighters in duration and general game mechanics?

thanks

Divine Mettle allows the target to attempt a saving throw, rolling at +[Cha bonus], against one effect that a save can end. It's not written like this because the PH wasn't edited well.

2. Is Divine Challenge perpetual?
Yes, unless you use it to mark a different monster or fail to engage the one you have challenged.

Yes.

Yes. He can even mark multiple times in a round, since he can mark the target of any of his attacks, whether the attack hits or misses.

No. Marked is a condition that gives you a -2 penalty to attack rolls for any attack that doesn't target the creature that marked you. See PH pg 277 (and though it doesn't say this on pg 277, a new mark supersedes an old one). The Marked condition isn't in the PH's Index, and there's no Glossary where you could look it up directly, because the PH wasn't well edited.

Here's a better description of Marked, probably taken from the D&D Compendium (I found it elsewhere on these boards).

A creature can be subject to only one mark at a time, and a new mark supersedes a mark that was already in place. The effect you use to mark a creature determines how long the creature remains marked by you. Regardless of the mark’s duration, it ends if someone else marks that creature, unless an effect says otherwise.

You're welcome. Hope this helps.

Q: A fighter marks multiple targets. Those targets then make attacks against other creatues. While the -2 applies to each, does the fighter get to make a MBA against each one? Or is he limited to doing only once per round?

The fighter's attack from Combat Challenge is an immediate interrupt, and you can only take one immediate action per round (see pg 268).
