Frodo / Bilbo - hybrid warlord / rogue

Garthanos

Arcadian Knight
In fact the two are the same characters in more ways than one... Tolkein originallly planned only one character if I recall then decided to let Bilbo have his light hearted adventure... and move on to Frodo... basically a younger Bilbo

I consider this hobbit to be one of the most challenging of the batch of characters from LOTR - on another thread we came up with some pretty good interpretations for Gandalf - one fairly developed Aragorn and some of the characters like Legalos just seem to easy ;-)

Well here goes Frodos player never heard of powergaming / optimizing - but this could be fun anyway... (actually I might have optimized a little -- I think Frodo is a higher wisdom... and he probably has higher con but)

A warlord with 8 strength? - its ok he never uses it...

Arguably Chameleon in place of Slippery Mind could make sense...
Frodo spent very little time invisible the ring was too much of
a burden... but using elvish cloaks and natural hobbit stealth
yeah he was all over that.

I don't expect this thread to have the popularity of the Gandalf one... but hey.

The one rings invisibility is closer to the epic cloak of invisibilities power... undead are immune.

The elven cloaks are chamelon rings in disguise ;-)

Noble Scion background (with dungeoneering to reflect all the stories miscellaneous things uncle Bilbo and Gandalf told the boy)

I was almost thinking bard, maybe hybrid bard|rogue, for Frodo. Frodo was more cerebral than any of the other hobbits, more learned. Just a thought. But Frodo is definitely the toughest of the Fellowship to pin down to a specific class.

Having an at-will that, basically means your ally gets an oppening maybe protecting you ;-) was the reason I went with the Warlord. Properly skinned commanders strike could be accidental... or... allies paying a lot of attention to protecting you .. couldn't do as much of that with the bard (though I did consider that too).

Anybody with a build they'd like post... as I said he isn't optimized but I do think the powers are starting to feel right... wouldnt mind have squeeked in perception.

One of the things ...just looking at the characters in the books
I rather want two variety of hobbit... Wisdom hobbits... Bilbo and Frodo and the ever practical Sam and Charisma hobbits.. Meri and Pippin

Hobbits were down to earth practical.. the chipper charismatics of Merri and Pippin and boysterous volunteering themselves in to incredible dangers because they were both nieve and didnt have anything else to do ... could be said to be less hobbit like than Frodo and Sams practical responsible wisdom.

Ie we could build a race and call it Hobbit and give them Wisdom instead of Charisma. ;-)
Frodo would still be an odd man out for being an intellectual.(yes I do see the Bard inclinations).

Adventurer hobbits seem to feature fearlessness independent of other features...
