I voted for the cleric. Tank, damage, caster, face. Everything you need.
But a Bard with Snowflake Wardance is awesome. I was hitting with +19 at LVL4 with my last Bard.

ohh... didn't mean to disrespect the bard...not only is he fun to RP, but he can be pretty effective too...

I remember playing a bard in 2e Planescape...a tiefling (waist down: human -waist up: hyena..) (!!) ... he couldn't really sing...only managed to mumble a few lyrics (in a "Tom Waits" kind of way) over his quirky yet brilliant lute playing...
He was quite the attraction in one of Sigil's infamous inns...
plenty of connections... and with a great collection/knowledge of portals in the city...

ahhh... fun times...
