what happens to my equipment if i change my form with the polymorph spell?

the spell description says:
When the change occurs, your equipment, if any, either remains worn or held by the new form (if it is capable of wearing or holding the item), or melds into the new form and becomes nonfunctional.
so, is it up to me if my equipment is still going to be functional?

what if i change shape to a creature able to wear and hold items but larger than my size? will my equipment get bigger?

if i polymorph to a balor with the draconic polymorph spell will i also get a vorpal sword and a whip?
if i polymorph to a titan will my new form has the +4 half plate armor that the titan has in his description?

The first line of the Polymorph description says that it functions like Alter Self.

Alter Self says that any equipment you wear that can be used by the new form will remain. Equipment that isn't appropriate or won't fit the new form is absorbed into it, and rendered inactive. That's decided by the size and fit factor of the gear, not the will of the caster. The spell doesn't change the size of gear, though some magic items will resize on their own.

And by no interpretation that I'm aware of does the spell grant you equipment that you didn't have before.

Under Alter Self...

When you revert to your true form, any objects previously melded into the new form reappear in the same location on your body they previously occupied and are once again functional. Any new items you wore in the assumed form and can’t wear in your normal form fall off and land at your feet; any that you could wear in either form or carry in a body part common to both forms at the time of reversion are still held in the same way. Any part of the body or piece of equipment that is separated from the whole reverts to its true form.

so if i polymorph into a titan i'll be naked? my weapon and armor wont fit in my the titan form so they'll be absorbed? so i am going to attack with my hands and take an aoo every time? is there a spell that can summon a weapon in my hand to fight properly?

i suppose this is the section you are refering to:

SIZE AND MAGIC ITEMS

When an article of magic clothing or jewelry is discovered, most of the time size shouldn’t be an issue. Many magic garments are made to be easily adjustable, or they adjust themselves magically to the wearer. Size should not keep characters of various kinds from using magic items.
There may be rare exceptions, especially with racial specific items.

so, i take it that all items are going to resize except if the item description says different. is this correct?

Yeah, that's about right.

Titans are 20 hit dice, so you need to be a 20th level caster to turn into one. It's hard to imagine that you don't have any real magical gear by that level, but yeah, if you don't then you definitely violate Comics Code when you change.

Oh, for fun, note that most items of magical clothing or armor will resize by one size category, larger or smaller, so if you began as a Medium sized creature, your gear will grow to fit Large. Titan's are Huge. :)

so if i polymorph into a titan i'll be naked? my weapon and armor wont fit in my the titan form so they'll be absorbed? so i am going to attack with my hands and take an aoo every time? is there a spell that can summon a weapon in my hand to fight properly?

...hmmm that is a good question....

Clearly the text does not define what happens as far as "clothing/average-mandane equipment" of the form you are about to assume is concerned.
Say you want to turn into an ogre...its a bit awkward to assume that you turn into a "naked" ogre. So what happens then?

Well... there is a phrase under Alter Self that goes:

Any part of the body or piece of equipment that is separated from the whole reverts to its true form.

What is this piece of equipment the text is refering to?

since:

When the change occurs, your equipment, if any, either remains worn or held by the new form (if it is capable of wearing or holding the item), or melds into the new form and becomes nonfunctional.

Since all equipment remaining on you, are things that do not have to change (because of size or form)...why are there things (equipement)
that revert to their true form when separated from the whole?

IMO it is clear that when you assume a new form, in addition to:

You can freely designate the new form’s minor physical qualities (such as hair color, hair texture, and skin color) within the normal ranges for a creature of that kind. The new form’s significant physical qualities (such as height, weight, and gender) are also under your control, but they must fall within the norms for the new form’s kind.

you can also designate the clothing and mundane equipment of the creature who's form you assume. So when for example you are a human wearing trousers, you can decide that your trousers change into the trousers an Ogre would wear. And since you are free to designate hair color, skin color and such, it is only natural to assume that you can change your clothing/equipment into any sort of equipment you want! (but they must fall within the norms for the new form’s kind) Of course all this "transmuted" equipment cannot function as the actual equipement they are imitating just like: A body with extra limbs does not allow you to make more attacks (or more advantageous two-weapon attacks) than normal, nor can they function as the items they "trully" are, just like or melds into the new form and becomes nonfunctional. Transmuted equipment serve for appearances only.

Taking all the above into account, the phrase Any part of the body or piece of equipment that is separated from the whole reverts to its true form. now makes sense. So what that means is that when a piece of clothing is torn from the Ogre (you) , once its separated from the whole (e.g. falls down), it reverts to the form of the original trousers. Needless to say... that you do not need to be wearing trousers so as to immitate the trousers of an agre. Any piece of equipent can become any piece of equipent... because there is not always relevance between what you're actually wearing/have-on-you and the creatures equipment you're trying to imitate.

So Alter Self, in terms of imitating equipment, functions like Disguise Self. Difference is that items are not illusions but transmuted pieces of actual equipment.

(uffffffffff....)
