Pale Master

What is the best way to make a starting character into a a Pale Master? I would like the character to be as close to as possible to being undead without being undead. I would like to get some the Tomb-based feats from the Lbris Mortis Book. I have thought about maybe even getting the Undead Leadershop feat. If a Pale Master have both of his arms replace by undead graft how would that effect the Undead Graft he get as part of being a Pale Master? I would also like to possibly be a master of the school of Necromancy.

I am restarting a character I created which had as his two starting feats Tomb-Tainted really Soul and Tomb-Born Resilience. I never got him past level one though. I would I like if it would help the character out for him to be a master of the school of Necromancy. I am also looking for the best to go with choicing the feats. He will be a human but i would like to give him the winged template from Savage Species.

For some reason I was thinking he will in the endd look like like this. Right now the right eye is the Eye of Flame undead graft. The left arm is based on the Yagnoloth's enormous arm.
He is a male human who towers a full ten feet in height. Two vast bat-like wings protrude from his back. The joints of the wings are laced with razorlike joints. The wings crest three and-half feet higher than the shoulders and have a wingspan of thirty feet. The left side of his body is hairless and thickly knotted with muscles. Black, glowing veins running throughout the gnarled sickly yellow-green skin on the left side of his body. The right side of his body is attractive and muscular with brown skin. The hair on the top of the right side of his head is black and reaches down to his right shoulder. Above his large round left eye which has a vertical slit, black sclera and a blood red iris is a large thick ridged brow. The right eye is crimson gem. The left arm is enormous and long enough to drag on the ground. The left hand has five fingers and a thumb that each end in a large sharp claw that resembles a knife blade. The right arm is normal in appearance.

I have thought of that description could instead be a Flesh Warper or it could be a Flesh Golem. I know that the enormous arm in the description will be a graft if I can get it made.

I think the Dread Necromancer just might be the right class for this character. What would be good feats for a Dread Necromancer? What would good why to explain the fact he has wings (Winged Creature template)? Would there be any problems addin the Winged Template to a Dread Necromancer?

There are quite a few online handbooks that are based on or touch upon the dread necro, he's essentially a fusion of necromancer and evil cleric with subtle hints of warmage if you didn't already know. The best feat is tomb tainted soul for 1 really good reason. If you are playing as living creature but have tomb tainted soul you have the ability to heal yourself with your negative energy class abilities as well as healing your undead followers, without this you could potentially kill yourself.

Also, become a master vampire before you hit 20 as depending on hoe much your DM sticks to the rules you can either just be a common lich or a fake lich with a phylactery that will probably get you kill unless you do something epically sly on a odyssean level to not end up getting killed. also if your DM decides you don't become a lich you are cut off from going demilich.

I like the Lich better then the vampire through I like the shape changing powers of the vampire. If I was to do a vampire I would follows the rules for vampires and aging found in Ravenloft. If could not looking like the description I posted ealier I would want to look like this. The Dread Necromancer I am going to make character will be named Thanatos. I would have him if I can not look like the earlier description to look like just like the description below. The description below is a description of an evil god of death and/or undeath, cold, and darkness named Thanatos.

Thanatos is a figure in the shape of a nine feet tall humanoid with four arms. His icy cold body is bony and terribly thin with sickly yellow-green shriveled (mummy-like) skin tightly drawn across bones and thin muscles. His rotting head is monstrous in appearance and a nauseating sight to behold. The bones on the right side of the head are stripped of all flesh and muscle revealing bare bones. Solid yellow light glows from within the eye sockets with an cold, evil, unnatural light. The head has long powerful, jaws rimmed with six inch long sharp fang-like teeth. Eleven-inch dagger-shaped teeth protrude from the upper jaws of the head. These teeth are tapered to an edge on both the front and the back cusps. The head has worms crawling on it. The arms are covered in rotting, gangrenous skin with areas of bone showing through the skin. The armor he wears appears as a large rib cage complete with spinal column and shoulder blades. The bone the armor is made from appears to be human in origin, and is bleached white. He wears a billowing hooded black funereal robe over his armor with a belt of skulls. The left side of the robe is rotting and tattered.

well i am versed quite extensively in necromancers, and if you want your guy to be a necromancer then dread necromancer is a good start. especially with tomb-tainted soul (who doesn't want to be at full health at the end of every encounter with charnel touch)

BUT WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU WANT YOUR CHARACTER TO DO??
AND WHAT ALLIGNMENT IS THE PARTY??

grafts are fun but some of the better ones are expensive if you continue to follow that path in higher levels.

now you mentioned undead leadership, don't take it if you want to be a pale master (you get it for free at level 9 anyway)

my current character is a dread necro in a good party, now dread necros are fun but unless you plan on either becoming a lich or creating undead with animate dead (which pale master can cast for free 1/day, and this saves you tons on onyx gems in later lvs) their spell list in pretty sparse as far as utility goes, so i supplemented with a few lvs of wizard and then ultimate magus, which progresses my necro spell list (so you dont waste the lvs you have taken goin into a spell list that tops at lv 4 spells) and gives more lvs of wizard (after lv 8 in dread necro the abilities that are useful are few and far between this allows you to progress in a spell list you alrdy have, and acess wizard spell list for your low lv evocation and utility, like arcane lock, desecration, and most importantly awaken undead and other things that help you) plus untimate magus give bonus'es to caster lvs :)

now being in a good party is tricky, you cant let them see you use charnel touch on yourself and your abilities (especially raising dead) are limited at best. but its very interesting especially when our healer tries to heal me and im making a will save cause tomb-tainted soul makes positive energy hurt me.

but ill ask again and then ill tell you my 2 cents

yeah sorry, but there's a lot of ways to play necromancers. and once you know what kind you want to be, and how much you have to hide it, its a lot easier to give advice.

o and btw true necromancer is also good, cleric levels stack with dread necromancer and true necromancer for your rebuking. so you effectively don't miss a beat when it comes to rebuking

there is no one class thats the best at being a necromancer its all about what you want to do and how you want to do it.

1. its all about if he wants an undead army (and then its if he wants to create it or rebuke it)

2. he wants to become undead (dread necro can make you a lich, and there other ways to get there as well)

3. or if he just wants to mess with people with some of the more fun necro spells. (as well as experiment on other party members or people, this mostly depends how creative you are)
